Life & Work with Danny Silvertone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danny Silvertone.

Hi Danny, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’m an American singer-songwriter. My R&B/POP music hybrid is noted for its stylized, cinematic quality and exploration of themes of intimacy, late-night vibes, romance, and sadness. My music contains references to pop culture, particularly from the 1980s and 1990s.

I went from being the frontman of an Alternative Rock Group, then created a more smooth ambient alt-pop sound specifically for people who may be struggling with mental health nuances. This is especially important to me because when I was very young my father took his own life.

I’ve dedicated my music and brand to addressing emotions that may not be so easy to talk about. My single “ALONE” from my debut album “INSOMNIA” is out now on Spotify and Apple Music, DannySilvertone.com. Inspirations include but are not limited to TheWeeknd, PLAZA, Always Never, Chase Atlantic, Black Atlass & Micheal Jackson.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road? I’ve had to learn so much about myself, how to write music in my own specific style, but most of all, how to connect to people close to me and abroad. Not to mention all of the money woes from COVID-19!

Writing a project that I felt was going to be honest, and of good quality with very little to work with was also a huge challenge. I’m still thankful for the experience.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer-songwriter. I’m very proud of my project, it took a year to write and produce ‘INSOMNIA’. I hold it very close to my heart, as it is my life’s work thus far. I even have a tattoo of the album title on my wrist.

As for what sets me apart – I’d like to think that I have the confidence to be myself 24/7, and I’m not afraid to encourage others to feel that way as well. As an artist, I try to work quickly and stay as raw/authentic as possible.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I had to learn, was that all good things take time, and for the best results, sometimes it’s best to be alone.
