Life & Work with Curt Felder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Curt Felder.

Hi Curt, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Curt “Kaine” Felder, and I’m a DJ, producer, and business owner originally from Brooklyn, NY. In addition to music, I also have a passion for technology and fitness.

I DJ and produce under the name “Kaine Legacy”. I have worked as a DJ at many popular nightclubs throughout the northeast, and as a producer, I have released 3 albums, and I’m currently at work on my 4th.

I’m also the owner of PharoahTec LLC, which specializes in designing and building computers to be used in music and multimedia creation.

On top of this, I’m a partner in Xceptional Life Fitness, an online fitness brand.

My wife Elizabeth and I absolutely fell in love with Phoenix during a prior visit and decided to relocate to the area in 2021. We now reside in Tempe, and we love the Valley of the Sun!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One major struggle for me was educating myself on finance. There have been a lot of rough patches along the way with securing finance for my business ventures. I’ve had to learn a lot about “good debt” vs “bad debt”, balance sheets, personal and business financial management, etc. These are subjects I wish were taught in school, especially during the high school years.

I was raised in a rough neighborhood in Brooklyn, and reading and gaining self-knowledge about finance really helped me to create a better reality for myself and my family.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being a DJ and producer, I’ve always designed and built my own computers, with the specs I needed for multimedia creation. I realized that other DJs, producers, and multimedia content creators also had a need for high-spec, low-cost computers.

That’s what led me to start my computer company, PharoahTec LLC, in order to fulfill that need in the marketplace. High specs at lower prices.

I also have a huge passion for fitness, so along with some family members, I founded an online fitness company called Xceptional Life Fitness. We specialize in producing online content and clothing an other merch. Through this brand, we hope to provide motivation for the average person to engage more in fitness and exercise.

I’m very proud that I’ve been able to establish these brands since I find myself able to make people’s lives a little better through music, technology, and fitness. And I get to make a living doing it!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I currently have a business mentor, Marc Hildebrand, who owns a business called First Responder Fitness. Marc has taught me so much about business, attracting and managing customers, and balancing my professional life and my personal life. I’m proud to call him my friend.

I also have to give credit to my wife Elizabeth, who is my partner in all of my business ventures, and even has her own brand, Rose Gold and Lillies, which focuses on cosmetics and makeup techniques and tutorials. I can’t say this enough – without Liz, I would not be where I am today. She has been my biggest advocate and given me so much motivation and support. She’s also an amazing planner and has given me reality checks when needed. She is truly an amazing partner.

I also have to give credit to my cousins (and partners in Xceptional Life Fitness), Kyle Williams, Clarence Williams, and Dave Wyatt. They have taught me so much about business, finance, and even real estate investments.
