Life & Work with Chelsie Stumph of North Peoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsie Stumph.

Hi Chelsie; so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was on maternity leave after having my second daughter, I prepared to return to work. The day that I was supposed to return to work was tough, and I decided that I was going to stay home and quit my job rather than pay to send my kids to daycare. I was a young mom, and none of my friends my age had children yet. I turned to the Internet a lot for parenting advice and recommendations. About two years into being a mom, I finally felt like I had my feet underneath me and wanted to share as much knowledge as I could, with other women, in hopes of making their journey easier; that’s when I started blogging through Instagram about three years ago. Today my blog has evolved into a lifestyle brand incorporating much more than motherhood.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
I don’t think sharing your life on the Internet is ever a smooth road for anyone. It’s a challenging and vulnerable thing. You have no idea sometimes what people on the other side think or say. I’ve struggled with reminding myself that I don’t need validation through likes or comments on my posts. It’s easy to start comparing yourself to other people online, but that never turns out well. I’ve since learned that if I am just myself, the people that need me will find me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I share life, tips and tricks, and lifestyle online via Instagram or TikTok. I love connecting with people through that channel. I always treat my stories like a group text message with all my best friends. It’s helped me since becoming a stay-at-home Mom have a good community. I also market for companies through my social channels. I’m proud of always staying true to myself and making lasting friendships through this online channel. I am very conscious of what I share online and never share anything I don’t align with.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check?
The book that I read the most is my Bible. I’m also currently reading Discipline is Destiny and mama bear apologetics. I always enjoy listening to Andy Frisella’s podcast, and lately. I’ve been listening to Dani Austin’s new podcast.
