Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Walters of Mae Design Co.

Hi, Caitlin Walters. Please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2020, when I was home with my daughter for COVID-19 learning, I took a makeup class to better sell makeup with a direct sales company I was part of. You can only sell something if you know how to use it. I fell in love with the art at that point and decided to start practicing on other people, turning it into a business. A year later, I decided to further my artistic abilities, start embracing the inner photographer in myself, and become a one-stop shop for my clients.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing in this life would happen without some struggle. I had to establish my name in a small town and establish a solid client base throughout the state. I learned the hard way what type of individuals to work alongside. This helped form my business into the one it is now.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in wedding and boudoir makeup, boudoir, and gothic photography. I love connecting with my artistic side and projecting it into reality. My client’s faces light up when they see their makeup done, all the way to how their faces light up when they see themselves in gorgeous photos. I embrace true beauty and show people that they are beautiful and inspiring in their ways. I am most proud of all of the beautiful souls I have been able to touch and embrace throughout the years. Starting this, I never thought I’d get this far.

Please talk to us about happiness and what makes you happy.
What makes me happy? Well, first and foremost, my daughter. Watching her grow and become her true self is my life’s absolute honor and joy. I am a plant enthusiast, as well as a pug mama. Both of which bring me happiness. Outside of that, I love the rain and essential oils and gardening different herbs to make my teas. You can call me an old soul if you will
