Life & Work with Bethany Home

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Home.

Hello Bethany Home, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
The start of our band came about in January of 2021. Alton, Jaden, and Daniel had been playing music together prior to the band’s formation. After meeting up with Cameron, the new guitarist, we decided that we would be proceeding in a different direction with our sound. The moment that this decision had been made is what we consider to be the start of our band, Bethany Home.

Since the forming of our band, we have released a total of six songs. Our debut ep “Yearbook” and our most recent single “Lightbulb (Live at Satellite)”. We have also gone on three short tours, playing shows in various different cities within the Southwest states.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Luckily it’s been pretty smooth, we’ve had a lot of help and support from our friends and families. Our friends Addeline and Adeline have been there from the very beginning, and our families have helped us with everything from getting a van for touring to letting us practice in their office or shed.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Many have described our music as indie/emo. Our sound has often been compared to that of bands like “Modern Baseball” and “The Front Bottoms.”

Some things that set us apart from other bands are our live show and the overall energy and thoughtfulness that we put into our songwriting. These are two things that we have put a lot of attention toward as a band. Anybody who has heard our music or has seen us live can attest to this

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Our plans for five years from now are something that we have talked a lot about together as a band. Alton and Cameron are currently in college. After their graduation, we plan to eventually move to another state and continue writing new music and playing shows.
