Life & Work with Bäsmini

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bäsmini.

Hi Bäsmini, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
An up-and-coming artist based in Phoenix, Arizona, Bäsmini and their family flocked from the inner city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to pursue a new life path. Bäsmini started his music career in 2018 by releasing his single ‘No (all I can say is) featuring Lil Stewy. He continued his career by releasing his most popular single, ‘Emergencies,’ in 2022 and has since begun his professional modeling career with Neon Hippie.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a stable career will never be an easy road, whether emotionally, physically, or even mentally. Some of the biggest struggles Bäsmini had during the process were depression, anxiety, and episodes of emotional instability due to a lack of motivation and focus on his career, where times got the worst. It’s always been a constant rebrand until Bäsmini (previously known as Kings Lee) took 2 years off of music to rebrand himself into BÄSMINI. When one door closed, he always reached for the next opportunity.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Bäsmini specializes in Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, and contemporary music and has worked with artists like Ballad (Wait, Wait part 2 (coming soon), Øfficial KDD, Kaya Jade, and Kaj Loud, as well as producers like IamRoofa! He hopes to work with more artists like Armani White, Iyla, Janelle Monaé, and Joji and create a whole new style of music that’ll hopefully make a statement for the independent artist community.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The most important thing to building a career and becoming successful in such is the will and determination to get to the goals you set for yourself.
