Today we’d like to introduce you to Baba Desta.

Hi Baba, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a recording artist, born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. I started making music around 14 years old while I was in high school. I’ve now been making music in genres like hiphop and Afrobeats, sometimes creating a fusion of the 2.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road. The struggles are supposed to be there. If it was easy then everyone would be at the top.
The struggles can be in forms of disloyalty, dependability, mental health breaks, etc. depending on who the person is. But that’s what comes with it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m known for my music mainly, and that’s what I specialize in too, but I’ve been recognized for other things like audio engineering (which I used to do heavily for local artists) and event promoting which I still do.
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to any environment. I can cater to any vibe that’s brought to me, whether it’s music or in any other field outside of it.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being in the position that I’m in. It’s times where it was easy for me to give up and let everything go but I still got through those hardships regardless. We don’t often look back so it’s easy to forget how far we’ve gotten.
