Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Robinson.

Hi Ariel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my baking business 7 years ago. Handing out free samples all over work to get clientele. Fast forward to 2021. I rebranded; adding catering services, and changing my name to better showcase what I currently offer. Sweet Things Baking became Gourmet by Monet. Offering Baking, Catering, Private Chef Services, & Pasta/Bread classes.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had my share of challenges but I knew starting my own business wouldn’t be easy but it’s absolutely worthwhile.

I’ve dealt with not having the proper equipment, having to use other kitchens to accommodate quantities, broken ovens, no real orders for a year, and losing hope, and still, my business is easily my greatest accomplishment. After 7 years, I’m still passionate and even more driven. I love what I do and hope one day to quick my full-time job for my business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in comfort/soul food, fresh Italian food, bread, and cheesecake. I’m known for making food pretty and doing a lot in little time. My drive sets me apart from most And my time management is unmatched.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that there is always something to do in any city and Arizona offers a lot of beauty as well. My least favorite thing is probably the traffic. I’m in surprise so everything is 40min minimum from me
