Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Mercado and Juanita Hernandez.

Hi Anna & Juanita, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our journey together started from birth. We grew up fortunate enough to have a close, loving, supportive family. As first cousins, we have always been there for each other whenever we needed it. From sleepovers, radio dedications, car shows, pregnancies, family loss, you name it we did it together. Although our journey into the business side of Prima Magic began in 2019, our admiration of crystals began much earlier, in Northern Arizona. On family vacations, we would spend hours looking for the prettiest, shiniest gems or rocks to add to our collection. I remember our pet rock collection being a defining moment of our childhood. Not just from rock collecting but also the time spent with our families.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When we grew up, overcoming adversities was difficult, but we persevered because of our family’s love and support. We decided we wanted to share that self-love and healing with others. Some obstacles we face with Prima Magic besides from the occasional hand cramp would be the hunt for certain crystals, but we love the challenge!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love the fact that each gem is so unique, they have the swayful ability to make you feel in spirit, beautiful and empowered And in our culture, jewelry, a pair of good hoops for example, changes your vibe from simple to bad ass! And that’s exactly what we want to achieve with our wearable art. To feel beautiful, powerful and badass with a twist of self-healing. And what’s more beautiful than that?? 🙂

How do you think about happiness?
Our joy from prima magic is so much more than jewelry making because so much goes into every piece. All of our pieces are custom made and the relationships we have with our customers are genuine. People feel comfortable reaching out to us on the benefits crystal play in dealing with anxiety, grief, love & happiness. To see a finished product is truly amazing, especially to see it on another person. As each person is as unique as the piece itself.
