Life & Work with Allie “Kay” Knoble of Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie “Kay” Knoble

Hi Allie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Well, my name is Allie Kay (Knoble) and I have always been a lifelong fan and student of comedy. Who doesn’t love to laugh, right?, but It all started growing up watching HBOs Def Comedy Jam and BETs Comicview on cable. I truly believe that laughter heals and Comedy saves lives. Even the dark humor.

Hailing from “The Second City” Allie Kay is a comedian, actor and visual artist who has recently taken her talents to The Valley and surrounding stages alike.
Allie “Kay” Knoble is new to the Phoenix metro area and is ready to tackle a new city along with various new audiences. Her style is youthful, sassy, fun, educational, and full of punchlines. As a lifelong comedy buff she looks up to the greats of the past and present and is forever #TeamChappelle. I would love to open for him one day.

In a short period of time her stage credits include; The Laugh Factory: Chicago, Riddles Comedy Club, The Comedy Bar Chicago, Red Room Comedy Club, The Lincoln Lodge, & Crackers Comedy Club Indy. In Phoenix she has performed at The Scottsdale Resort and Spa, Standup Live, Tempe Improv, Desert Ridge Improv, Stir Crazy Comedy Club, House of Comedy and JPs Comedy Club as well.

Comedian Allie Kay has been seen-on various film and TV projects including “Power: Force”, The Chi, 61st Street, Heist 88, The Big Leap, Batwoman, Disney’s; Saturdays, and Chicago Med, PD and Fire to name a few.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the beginning it seemed to start off very easy to me, but only because I was doing what I thought instead of what I learned. I felt that my 1st year or three was a breeze, with my Comedyversary coming up I know that it is not. It takes WORK. Some of my challenges included self doubt, getting burnt out and comparing myself to others. My comedic struggles have included being bullied by other comics, being sexually harassed, and having jokes stolen by men and women. It has varied and every scene is different.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a comedian from Chicago, IL aka the second city. I am a host, comic, actress (IMBD) and visual entertainer. I am thankful to be apart of such a historical comedy city and a city full of comedic juggernauts that includes men and women. I am proud of always putting myself out there and going for comedic gold as well as trying new things such as plays, storytelling shows and many things alike. What sets me apart is my obsession with being a comedy history buff. I even want my own game show on the topic! Hollywood call ya girl!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Always do your research, watch the greats,
even watch the not so greats to see the differences, brush up on your vocabulary and pop culture knowledge/trivia. Don’t be afraid to do smart comedy and don’t be afraid to be truly you. I wish I knew that it is just like being the new kid in high school. Find your lane and stay in it. Focus on you.
