Today we’d like to introduce you to Presli Keith.
Presli, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have had a genuine passion for writing since I was able to formulate full sentences. I have an entire hope chest full of journals documenting my life from the third grade all the way through college. Writing has been my escape and outlet through so many experiences, the highs and lows, the milestones and the memories of my life.
Once I became a mother and experienced things that I never thought were a package deal of parenthood, I knew that it was my divine obligation to make it known to young moms that it is okay to not be Pinterest perfect. It is okay to be comfortable in your own skin and dare I say, CONFIDENT. To serve your children chicken nuggets every day, and to wear a bikini even when we have stretch marks. It became a calling that I could no longer suppress. These twenty-something moms who are raising children in a pressure-filled world deserve to have some of the pressure taken off of them. Womanhood comes with its own pressure, but add in the pressures of being a mother in 2019 and it becomes unbearable. So, I took to my blog to abolish mommy judgment, to debunk the myth that any single mother is doing things “perfectly”, and to give a stamp of null and void to the lie that is mom guilt. To accept the fact that we are stronger together, doing our best, and that it truly is okay to be a Reborn Ragamuffin.
Has it been a smooth road?
Any great story comes with a roadblock or two, right? Roadblocks, obstacles, challenges, whatever you want to call them, they do exist. For everybody. I mean, no one gets a freebie on life. Something that I remind myself as I continue to strive for greatness, as I approach this dream of mine with tenacity, and push forward to reach more and more women in a positive way, is that I cannot compare my first chapter to another woman’s thirteenth chapter. They had a beginning, I just did not see it. I see them now that they have a thriving blog, five employees working underneath them and 20,000 followers. I missed out on the long nights, the poor quality posts, the blogs that fell flat. I did not see their first chapter. Everyone starts somewhere. So, my advice to a young woman with a dream is to follow it, tenaciously. Relentlessly. Humbly. Be humble enough to put in the work, and suck at what you produce, until you have put in enough time, effort, and quite honestly, failure, to do what it takes to be the best version of whatever you are striving for. The worst thing you could ever do is not pursue a dream in fear of the opinions of others. You are incredible, powerful, and intelligent. Would you stifle anyone else who was beautiful, powerful or intelligent? Nope. Don’t do that to yourself. Everyone has a starting point, make your starting point today.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
In a world of clones and homemaker impersonators, I strive for authenticity. I strive to be the relatable, approachable, authentic mom on your feed. I strive to be the mom that tells you about the dried up play dough under my kitchen table, the mom that tells you I have stretch marks, insecurities, and disappointments. My children are not perfect, my marriage is far from it too. I do not eat organic, I work out when I can, I also love In N Out and have to say “Wed-Nes-Day” in my head or rely on Gwen Stefani to spell bananas. I want to be the person that you see on your feed at your lowest point. When you are on Instagram, scroll after you just fed your toddler fruit snacks for breakfast and you can read about how I work from home but my floors are seriously never clean. I want you to know you are not alone, I lose my temper, I fold laundry and don’t put it away, I feed my kids waaaaay too much junk food. I am just trying to make it by. Trying to do my best. Just. like. you. So, what am I known for? My genuine hope is that I am known for being authentic in a world of carbon copies. But who doesn’t wish that right? But honestly – I suck at this mom thing, join me. Your mess is welcome here.

OMG!! This is so real! I think every mom feels this on some level. Thank you for keeping it real and continuing to inspire us all to be true to ourselves.
