Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Fleischmann.
Paige, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Growing up, mom always put my brother and me in sports. She knew it was a healthy outlet for us as kids. Then, college hit and I had to get a job to help pay my way through. I didn’t have time for sports anymore and “workouts” became a happy hour with friends at bars. After college, I found myself overweight and depressed with my life. I was lost and didn’t have much hope for my future. Eventually, I found fitness again by getting a job at a local gym in Chicago. I then started to turn things around. I realized that without exercise and eating right I wasn’t a happy person both -mentally and physically! After moving to Arizona, I fell in love with the outdoors again and decide to make a huge career change that I will never regret! I became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2011 and started a new path of helping people improve the quality of their life. Over the years, my practice as a coach has evolved. I am continuing to invest thousands of dollars into my education each year and now am a Movement Specialist and Performance Coach for professional athletes. Even more exciting to me is that I have been practicing yoga for over ten years and am delighted to be sharing more mindset and meditation practices with clients as well. I am incredibly lucky to be doing what I am most passionate about because health and wellness is a core value of mine. I get to share the practice of health and vitality with people and help change them for the better. I always knew I was meant to nurture others and be of service so that I can heal the world one human at a time.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe in a smooth straight path to “success.” Especially because everyone’s idea of success varies. Life is full of bumps, turns, obstacles, and raindrops but it is how you approach challenges that shape you. Life is truly about perspective. It can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you must have strong faith that it is there and that if you want it bad enough you will work towards getting there. Remember, there are many people along the way that can help. Do not ever be afraid to ask for help. We are a species that are interconnected and cannot possibly manage this life alone. If you are young you must find others who inspire you to greatness. Surround yourself with people who are smarter than you so you can learn from them. I never act like I know it all – in fact, I try to remain CURIOUS! Above all else though, continuing to know your values (vulnerability, compassion, honesty, humility, etc.) is what helps us navigate our choices.
Please tell us about Premier Fitness Systems.
I use many methods of exercise and fitness to help people achieve their health goals. I specialize in knowing humans are complex beings and there is no one size fits all solution. I am a dynamic coach that also uses skills like psychology to help further my clients along in their results. I teach my clients about using their breath to unlock tension and stretch fascia. I use yoga, pilates, animal flow, gymnastics, and other training modalities to help them improve their foundational strength. We use dumbbells, sandbags, barbells, Indian clubs, resistance bands and medicine balls to overload strength and help with force and power production. I am proud of the team I get to be a part of. Premier Fitness Systems is a leader in the movement world. We pride ourselves on a more intelligent science-based approach to get clients better, faster results. Rarely are my clients hurt or injured on the training floor and everyone comes to us because they have heard about the amazing results their friends are getting with our methodology. I personally bond with all my clients because to me it is about human connection and building rapport in order to effectively coach someone to success.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
I am a big fan of audible.com because I can read books and cook or drive at the same time. HAHA, multi-tasker! I have bought soooo many hardbound books over the years, it is hard to pick a favorite but Katy Bowman “move your DNA” is definitely a must read.
