Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Wallen.

Natalie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I take so much pride in saying that I am one of the first lash artists in AZ, having done lash extensions for almost 12 years now. I have an absolute passion for what I do and still love it just as much now as I did all those years ago! I left AZ for 5 years and moved to Bend, Oregon where I was also one of the first to bring lashes to Bend. I grew my business there and handed it off when we decided to move back to AZ just about two years ago.

Doing eyelash extensions is my calling and I guarantee quality, consistency and passion with each and every appointment and I think that shows in my work and is why I have been able to build several successful lash businesses.

The immediate confidence and joy you see in a persons face after getting a set of lashes on is priceless and why I am so obsessed with my job!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I remember in the very beginning almost quitting as doing lashes was a lot harder than I thought it would be. It takes tons of patience and practice, but I decided to fail was not an option. I practiced on anyone that would let me including my brother and husband! Lol!

I also think mentoring with someone who has been in the business is extremely helpful to learn the ins and outs of what has worked for them, which is why I started offering mentoring sessions.

So, basically PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE and more PRACTICE!

The amount of time and effort you put into your training will absolutely show in your work!

Please tell us about The Lash Capital.
My business specializes solely in eyelash extensions and has for over 12 years now! I think that alone sets me apart in that I don’t offer a long list of services doing bits of different things each day, I do lashes all day, every day which has helped me to really perfect what I do!

I also think my approach to the safety and integrity of your own natural lashes while giving you a beautiful set of eyelash extensions really sets me apart as well. I believe eyelash extensions are meant to complement and enhance one’s own natural beauty, not overwhelm!

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
I think the beauty industry as a whole has endless opportunities for women and I am so thankful to be part of an ever-growing industry where I get to help other women look and feel their best!
