Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Staebell.
Natalie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up In Tucson, AZ. Out of high school, I went straight to college, not really knowing what direction I was heading but I knew I wanted to help people. Years went by and I still had nothing to show. I got into some trouble along the way and seemed like I’d never find what felt right to me. I was working at a restaurant at the time, my coworker mentioned to me she was looking into an aesthetic school. When I heard there was a school specifically for skin I immediately looked it up. I had been interested in makeup for years, loved experimenting with colors and techniques. I started wearing makeup at a really young age because I spent a lot of time covering up acne and acne scarring. I struggled with acne and once I got it under control I was left with discoloration and pitting.
I eventually enrolled at Pure Aesthetics and finally something felt right. Learning about skin and how to truly take care of it. Right out of school, I started working at a dermatology office where I got to work with medical grade products and lasers. I was there for about a year and ended up being let go. From there, I worked at a bank, meeting girls whom Id eventually do their makeup for their weddings. At the time, I did it for fun, hadn’t thought to much about making a career. I wasn’t happy being at what I thought was a “big girl job”, i was encouraged to get back to what made me happy and that was aesthetics. I left the bank and had 2 part time jobs at a med spa and a laser hair removal office. Worked there for some time and then had an opportunity to move up to phoenix where I continued working for laser hair office.
Even then, I wanted to do more, I went on to a Naturalpathic office to start up his aesthetic side but didn’t go to well and then finally to a cosmetic dermatology office. I’ve been there for almost 2 years learning and growing with multiple lasers, body contouring and skin care lines. I can truly help people improve their appearance, rebuild their confidence. I also have the flexibility to freelance makeup. I absolutely enjoy seeing the faces of brides I can help feel beautiful on their special day. The last year, I’ve started doing makeup for fitness competitors who I look up to, for their dedication and motivation. It took me a lot of wrong moves to finally feel confident in my own life path, 8 years later I know I’m truly happy and successful in my field. I have made some of the best, long lasting relationships with many woman that Ive been able to be apart of their journey too.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My path was difficult, I looked up to people who had it together and knew what they wanted to do with their lives. I felt lost but knew I wanted to contribute and offer value to others, I just wasn’t sure how. From wasting time and many in school, to getting in trouble I truly felt Id be living at home with my dad forever. I couldn’t get myself out of a hole. Once I found something I really enjoyed, I knew I was in the right place. Although it may not be the most secure, consistent field I wouldn’t change anything. My happiness is whats important and the value I can bring others.

I really listen to what my clients need and do whatever I can to make it happen. I want my clients to leave happy feeling their best self. I believe my authentic self shows through my work.
Were there people and/or experiences you had in your childhood that you feel laid the foundation for your success?
Growing up, dealing with skin issues and my love for makeup, I would never have thought it could become a career. I thought being in the healthcare industry was the only way I was going to be able to help others. I have compassion towards people in similar situations and feel its important, especially in this day and age that we utilize our skills to build anything into an empire. I’ve been able to combine two of my passions and make it my own. Were given the tools to make our dreams come true if were willing to go for it and explore the possibilities. There’s always going to be ups and downs but when your happy and can make decisions that are going to continue making you happy there’s nothing that can keep you down.
