Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Burke.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Madison. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
So, as you may already know, my name is Madison. I was born and raised in a small town in Southwest Michigan. Where I then proceeded to get my four-year degree, at the local University, Western Michigan. After I graduated, I moved to the east side of the state near Detroit where I worked my first corporate job. Needless to say, the corporate world was not for me. Don’t get me wrong, I learned a lot and I’m grateful for that season of my life. But, I whole-heartedly aspired to work from home and be able to express my creativity freely.
Long story short, a little over one year ago, I took a huge leap of faith and moved across the country to a state I hadn’t even visited. Okay, okay, I’m sure you’re probably thinking I’m crazy, but I promise it was all part of God’s divine plan. Trust me.
I moved from what I considered the tundra, to the hot Arizona desert. Again, I know I might sound crazy, but, Arizona is one of the most BEAUTIFUL states I have ever been to. There’s palm trees, cacti, and mountains everywhere you look. One thing I do miss though is the freshwater coast in Michigan. My fiancé and I are spoiled and are able to get the best of both worlds by visiting Michigan every summer (at least until our parents tell us no).
My fiancé has been a big part of my transformation this past year and a half. When he met me, I was working in the corporate world, living in a scarcity mindset, and truly embracing the “why me?” mindset – unhealthy to say the very least.
Over the past year, I have literally TRANSFORMED. A perfect example is a caterpillar in comparison to a butterfly. I am a butterfly and I love every part of who I was, who I am, and who I’m becoming – because after all, it has all led me to where I am today. I am no longer ashamed, no longer living in fear, no longer convince (needs to be convincing) myself that life is happening TO ME. I can confidently say that I have stepped into, and embraced, the truth that life is happening FOR ME. I know, with my whole heart, that everything that happens is a set UP from God, not a setback.
Okay, so back to my story and how much I love my fiancé. Once I was exposed to the personal development world, my life was CHANGED. My mindset was changed. My goals changed. But my love for Luke grows stronger and stronger every single day. You see, he set and continues to set a perfect example of what it means to be a successful Entrepreneur, with Jesus at the center of everything he does. He never ceases to amaze me. We now work side by side in two different businesses, and I couldn’t imagine being mentored by anyone else. Some people say, “working with your significant other is hard”, and I can happily say that I can’t relate. Working with Luke is a BLESSING. He is intentional about every part of his day, and he has taught me how to do the same. He gives everything his all and doesn’t go to bed until his to-dos are all checked off for the day. He inspires me, always in all ways.
So, back to business. When I first met Luke, he asked me what I wanted to do for an occupation, and I told him I wanted to work in a marketing department. Well, my wish is MY COMMAND, but really it’s God’s – all the glory goes to the big man upstairs. You see, back then I imagined myself eventually working in a marketing department at a huge corporation. It’s so funny that we are programmed in school to graduate high school, then graduate with a 4-year degree, work 40 hours per week, for 40 years of our lives, just to “retire” on 40% of our income. NOPE, NOT ME! I quickly realized that I was not going to live my life, working for someone else’s dream. I was going to make MY DREAM a reality.
I’m blessed y’all. Truly blessed. I work from home, for my Fiancé’s six-going-on-seven figure Digital Marketing Agency, Invigor8. Where I am able to express my creativity in so many different ways and work on my own time. Luke once told me, “you’ll never “work” a day in your life if you love what you do.” Boy-oh-BOY was he right! I wake up and am so excited to either go work outside, at an amazing workspace here in Scottsdale or work right at my desk. I get to work from ANYWHERE y’all. Yes, anywhere. But, I have to show up every day. Not just for the company, but for myself. I strive to push myself out of my comfort zone each and every day. Be the BEST version of myself I can be, day-in and day-out.
God placing me on this Earth was no small thing. Discovering my true passion and purpose is no small thing. Living The laptop lifestyle is no small thing. Embracing Entrepreneurship is no small thing. Living life intentionally, every single day, is NO SMALL THING. Call it cliché, but I am here to make a difference, watch me.
Somehow I have turned a long story short into a long story kind of longer than I expected. But that’s the beauty of it. I am confident in my story, the good AND the bad because it has all led me to this very moment, where I am unapologetically living out my dream.
I am currently an Executive Marketing Consultant for Invigor8, my Fiancé’s digital marketing agency. My favorite part about what I do (notice I didn’t say “my job” because it’s not a job in my eyes), is that I get to hear so many different peoples’ stories. I get to hear about where they currently are, where they want to be, what obstacles are in their way, and how myself and Invigor8 can help them get there. Creating and optimizing your personal and/or business’s brand are both very important. Billboards, newspaper ads, and commercials just don’t cut it anymore. We are living in a digitally dominated world, where we have access to platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, that we can leverage to tell our story. Everyone has a story, and it deserves to be heard! That’s what I’m here for, I’m here to help you make your dream a reality! Just like I have done, and am continuing to do, for myself!
Has it been a smooth road?
You know, I thought entering the Entrepreneurship world would be easier. I can’t help but laugh at myself because it has been the hardest thing I have EVER done. I need to hold myself accountable every second of every day. I need to prioritize money-making activities. I always strive to be the best version of myself every single day, but I have my really tough days. I cry, a lot. Happy and sad tears. But, one thing that has kept me grounded is my trust in God’s divine plan and also my mindset that life is happening FOR ME! Everything is ultimately working out for your advantage, remember that! When the going gets tough, pick your little head up!
Some people think the more money you make, the fewer problems you have. AHH-WRONG! The bigger the goals, the bigger the obstacles babe. Now, you can embrace those obstacles one of two ways: 1) you can have the mindset that life is happening to you and that it’s a setback, OR 2) you can have the mindset that life is ultimately happening for you and that it is a set-UP! You get to choose, so choose wisely!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that a lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
Find someone who has what you want and has been where you are. Be coachable. Step into the truth that you are who you surround yourself with.
Go to networking events (Eventbrite is a great website for that), surround yourself with like-minded individuals whom not only strive to be the best versions of themselves every day but also support you as you are doing the same.
One time I heard, “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear” and that couldn’t be truer!
