Today we’d like to introduce you to Madeleine Grace.
Madeleine, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
It all started in Seattle. Born and raised, I spent the early years cultivating my creative side through dance, drawing and above all, a Waldorf education. During my seven years of Waldorf school, I learned not only how to be a better version of myself but developed an even more colorful imagination paired with acute self-discipline. These skills have contributed to the life I feel fortunate enough to live today.
Upon reaching my final semester at Washington State University, I made the courageous decision to accept an internship in Arizona with the athletic department at Arizona State University. I packed up every last bit I called mine and drove my ruby red Volkswagen 22 hours toward a new life adventure, unsure of what to expect or who I would meet.
My entrepreneurial side began to develop through the internship I had with the university. While I loved my position, I knew I did not want to commit myself to the 9-5 for the rest of my life. I wanted to travel, stay active and most of all, see my family at the drop of a hat if that’s what I wanted. May rolled around and I had a decision to make: Dive into the 9-5 lifestyle or take a chance on building the life I knew I truly wanted.
I began working with a Multi-level marketing company while selling my artwork, building social media presence and slinging espresso on the side. In the past year, I have been fortunate enough to network with like-minded people, fine tune my goals and ideas and jump back into drop-in dance classes. I continue to create art, help people build their social media and online presence and travel as much as I can! Long story short, life gets better every day!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
“Nothing worth having comes easy.”
Toward the beginning, my biggest concern was the financial aspect. I was constantly uneasy over that fact that I wasn’t making what I wanted to be making right away. From this state of mind, the quality of my work was not as good as it could be and I wasn’t putting forth my best effort.
This is when I learned the power and vitality of consistency and mindset. Nothing happens overnight which is why we must fall in love with the PROCESS and forge on with the passion that made you start your journey in the first place.
Please tell us about what you do.
By early morning, I am a barista slinging espresso left and right. By afternoon, I am a healthy-hair shampoo-recommending guru who helps clients build their online brands and spend time dancing in the meantime. I enjoy discovering the ins and outs of social media and am constantly testing new strategies for increased engagement and reach.
In the midst of my entrepreneurial endeavors, I value the authenticity I represent which I believe sets me apart. Communication and genuine interaction both virtually and in person have a tremendous amount of value in the realm on a daily basis. I enjoy getting to know more people through the work I do and appreciate sharing visions and ideas.
