Life and Work with Leeann Phillips

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leeann Phillips.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Leeann. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always had an artistic side, even as a child. I started back in 2010 working on short films doing special effects makeup and hair in Southern California. I ended up landing my dream job with Knott’s Berry Farm as a makeup artist for their yearly Halloween event. Being a single parent, sometimes you have to sacrifice a lot and continue to strive for better. I made the decision to move to Arizona, a beautiful state and put myself through Cosmetology school and continue doing hair and makeup. I am close to 2 years behind the chair and I have never been busier and happier. I get to make clients feel better about themselves each day and I continue to educate myself every chance I get. Continuing education in this industry is critical since trends are ever-changing. The sky is the limit and visions aren’t seeing things as they are, but as they will be!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Never give up. There is always a way. Knowledge is power. Stay educated.

I am incredibly dedicated and in my industry (beauty) my clients trust me for my professional opinion. They are my walking billboards. I take pride in everything I do from the initial consultation to the follow up after executing a service. I enjoy being behind the chair doing hair color. I specialize in Alexandria Sugaring (a form of hair removal similar to waxing) as well as lash extensions and Microblading.

What advice would you give to someone at the start of her career?
Be independent. Work hard and make sure to take time for yourself!
