Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirsten Virgulto.
Kirsten, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
There have been many ups and downs on the way to where I am today and it has made all the difference! To be brief, I have always wanted to be a hairdresser! I always loved watching stylists pack foils on a clients head and getting to see a big chop as a kid. I grew up with parents that had over the top work ethic and it set a good example to stay humble and wake up and work as hard as you can to make a great life for yourself and family. Later on, I met an amazing guy who works in the golf industry and needed somewhere warm and sunny to work so we packed up from cold Connecticut and started a new adventure in sunny Arizona!! And here I am, working with an amazing team at bE Salon in Cave Creek!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Oh my gosh, it has not been smooth but more recently it really has. When I first moved to Arizona, we were in a more of a retirement community and that was tough being a young stylist so excited to be in an awesome industry. Of course, I was inspired and eager to try new techniques out since I spend quite a bit of time watching Instagram stars creating amazing work. This was definitely a low point for me since I was just not in the place I needed to be for the volume of work I wanted to do and the type of art I wanted to create. I was seriously depressed. My boyfriend and I took a trip out to Phoenix and fell in love with the city. It was meant to happen because within two weeks we both had job offers and a place to live and we hit the road again! It all came so easy! My best advice is to embrace the struggle even on the hardest days because it will make or break you. If you have a goal that you’re set on just keep swimming! It will happen and you will be successful. What’s meant to be real will be.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with bE Salon – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I love that at bE Salon, we always strive to provide amazing customer service with reasonable pricing so we can serve so many different people. By always trying to go above and beyond our guests can see that we truly are a family and not just “co-workers”. We have a blast together and although we work hard all day the team keeps it seeming easy by laughing throughout our day.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Currently, I have been OBSESSING over the Thriving Stylist podcast hosted by Britt Seva. I have also been loving Hair Brained Conversations. I also love reading fiction just for fun!
