Life and Work with Jordan Trudeau

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Trudeau.

Jordan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I went off to college and my best friend was the one who actually got me into making videos! We would make one big video every semester when we were up there & had so much fun watching them with everyone! She was the one who did more of the video making and I would help her however she needed. From there, my interest was peaked and I started making personal ones for fun. It’s always something I wanted to do but never had enough confidence to do it for others. A friend of mine started doing videography and that’s when I finally had the thought “why haven’t I started doing it yet?!” it’s been a dream for so long. I guess I just needed to make the leap & not care what people thought about it!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve learned so many things in such a short amount of time! I would suggest just going for it! Don’t let anything hold you back! The best thing that I did was offering free shoots in the beginning! I had so many wonderful friends that let me practice on them and were patient with me! It helps to find a style and build a portfolio. There were also a few times when things didn’t go as planned and I’m so grateful for such sweet friends who were sweet enough to have patience with me through those learning curves!

Please tell us about Trudeau Videography.
I do videography & photography. I think what really sets me apart from other videographers is the fact that when I send videos off to clients I always tell them that if there is anything about their video that they don’t like I am willing to make changes! I feel so honored every time someone decides to have me capture any kind of special moment for them. I want my work to be something that they share with their family and generations to come; because of that, I want them to love every second of their video! I have done this from the very beginning & since then, have only had to make minor changes a few times to videos.

Who have you been inspired by?
My mom has inspired me more than anyone else! She is such a role model to me and has always been there to support and uplift me! Growing up, she was a single mom raising my sister and me. She worked so hard to provide for us around the clocking with multiple jobs. Watching how hard working and motivated she was, even when she was exhausted, has inspired me to always push myself harder to get to where I want to be.
