Today we’d like to introduce you to Deserie Simpson

Deserie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Sunshine Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit that was established in May of 2015. Our mission is rescuing medium to large breed dogs & puppies from high kill shelters & unsafe conditions. Sunshine focus’s on large breed dogs because they are harder to adopt out. However, we have had several small breeds in our rescue as well. We rely on foster parents as well as our awesome donors to keep us running. We give each dog proper vet care, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchips, rehabilitation, & basic training to secure their future before being placed in their furever home. To date, we have rescued over 500 dogs!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The rescue world, in general, is a struggle and takes a toll on your heart. Sunshine personally has had to deal with hoarding situations, abuse causes, as well as deaths of very sick dogs that we were not able to save after exhausting all medical options.
