Today we’d like to introduce you to David Lockett

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born in California, grew up in Louisiana the past two years I was in school for basketball and I transferred out here spring of 2020, I realized music was more for me I’ve always had love for music, I grew up playing multiple instruments. Never thought that I’d get to the point where it could actually be considered a career. I’m an upcoming all around artist due to me being brought up in certain areas and my family being more into r&b it expanded the music that I’m into and my flexibility to collab with other artists.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been bumpy, I transitioned from school to full time music, you have people that have their thoughts and opinions on it and also mentally it can be hard on yourself, it’s something you got to be confident in. A lot of times for me it’s hard to stay focus even at a low profile you still gone have haters, doubters, and people that just don’t like yam music, but yam jus got to keep it pushing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a rapper, I’m different cause I got a more melodic flow and I can transition to any type of beat, I’m not afraid to step out of my comfort zone, I’m proud of how much I’ve improved in my writing I feel like now I’m able to get deeper within storytelling and stay big my flow.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice is if this is something you want to do and you have faith that u can do, DO IT!! Don’t let nobody tell you anything, do what you feel is best for you.
