Life and Work with Christina Rohde

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Rohde.

Christina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started Mirror Image Trends, an online upscale resale, and boutique, with my identical twin sister, Jennifer, because we are passionate about helping women look and feel great about themselves through fashion. Mirror Image Trends was founded to bring together one-of-a-kind items with affordable price tags, so women can express their inner fashionista!

We work hard to provide our M.I Gals with the latest trends in clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a new business is difficult and requires financial planning. Before we started, we had to do research on the online boutique business, develop a mission statement, obtain a business license and build a website. We both work full-time jobs and find that we have to manage our time and goals to ensure that we could execute our vision.

Our advice for women that are wanting to start an online business is to do as much research as you can to make an informed decision on the key pieces needed to create and run your business. While it might take more time than you thought, hang in there because it is worth it!

Mirror Image provides the modern woman with essential pieces for her everyday life – whether it’s presenting at a board meeting, dashing to grab cocktails with friends or preparing for a family reunion – this woman knows how to do it in style. We believe fashion should be bold, inspiring and effortless, without paying retail prices. All of the pieces we sell are special because they are items that we select and wear ourselves.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
We truly believe that women who empower other women create endless opportunities and pave new ways for others to follow. We are inspired by these women and believe there is no one position that is best suited, as they are all attainable. Whether it’s being a CEO, firefighter, business owner, doctor, etc., there is nothing a woman cannot do. Go out and achieve your dream!
