Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Victoria Gallagher

We recently had the chance to connect with Victoria Gallagher and have shared our conversation below.

Victoria, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Most people hear the word hypnosis and instantly think of stage shows — or something a hypnotist does to you, like making you cluck like a chicken or bark like a dog. That couldn’t be further from what I actually do.

Hypnosis is really about guiding your mind into a relaxed and peaceful state where it’s more open to suggestions — suggestions that help you succeed in a specific area of your life.

The truth is, my business is built around one of the most powerful tools for transformation. Hypnosis gives you direct access to the part of your mind that actually runs the show — your subconscious. That’s where your habits, patterns, beliefs, fears, self-worth, and identity all live. When you change your internal dialogue, everything in your life can shift.

It’s all about rewiring the mind. Your thoughts create everything. They shape your emotions, your energy, your self-image, and your actions. It’s not magic — it’s how your brain actually works.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Victoria Gallagher — a hypnotherapist, best-selling author, speaker, app developer, and founder of the BELIEVE Hypnosis App. For over 25 years, I’ve been helping people unlock their potential using the power of the mind — specifically through hypnosis, manifestation, and subconscious reprogramming.

What makes my brand different is that I don’t just teach people to “think positive” or “visualize success.” I provide real tools that actually retrain the subconscious mind — where your core beliefs, habits, and patterns live. That’s the key to lasting transformation. My BELIEVE app delivers thousands of powerful hypnosis sessions and affirmations to help people manifest success in every area of life — from money and business to relationships, health, confidence, and beyond.

Right now, I’m focused on scaling the BELIEVE platform to reach millions globally, expanding into physical products like journals and planners, and continuing to change the way people understand what’s truly possible when they align their thoughts, energy, and actions with what they want.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
I was in first grade when I found out that sixth graders at my school put on The Wizard of Oz every year — and I knew, without question, that when it was my turn, I was going to play Dorothy.

From that moment on, I honed in on it. I would visualize myself on stage, singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” and skipping down the yellow brick rock, wearing those ruby slippers. I played it over and over in my mind like a movie, for years. I didn’t know what manifesting was at the time, but that’s exactly what I was doing.

By the time sixth grade came around, I audition, and long story short, I played Dorothy. I realized that I had the power in me to create my own reality by first seeing something in my mind, believing in it completely, and then of course, taking the actions to make it real. Of course, I had no idea I would be someone who teaches others how to make their dreams a reality the way I do today.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Absolutely. It was during the development of my BELIEVE app. I’d already spent years creating content, thousands of sessions, scripts, and courses. I knew this app was special and it was going to change lives. But the technical side was a total nightmare. I hired a bad team of developers who lied about their skill level. Features were promised and broken. One critical bug with the playlist feature cost me weeks of delays and thousands of dollars. I had to fire people. Start over. More than once.

There were many moments, heartbroken, full of tears, when I thought, Maybe this just isn’t meant to be. But something in me wouldn’t let me quit. I had this deep inner knowing that said, This app is meant to be part of my legacy. It’s bigger than me. It’s going to help millions.

So I kept going. I finally found the right developers. I made the hard decisions. And today, BELIEVE is live and helping people around the globe every single day. I get so many rave reviews and as I look back on those moments, I realize why I couldn’t give up. I knew this would just be a story about pushing through the hard moments and became part of the proof of what I teach: that your belief must be stronger than your fear if you are going to succeed.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes — but she’s only part of me.

The public version of me is strong, polished, confident, and purpose-driven. She shows up with clarity, teaches transformation, shares tools that change lives, and holds space for people to believe in themselves. That’s all real. But it’s not all of me.

What people don’t always see are the quiet moments of doubt, the times I’ve cried under the pressure of holding it all together. They don’t see the hours I spend reflecting, healing, journaling, meditating, questioning things, studying, having long talks with my husband… or deep conversations with my cats.

Being real isn’t about putting everything out on display for the whole world to see. It is about showing up with integrity. I still keep some parts of myself private, but what I do share comes from truth, alignment, and the intention to lead by example.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes. Early in my career, I became a stockbroker because I thought success meant climbing the financial ladder and making a lot of money. And I did it. I had the title, the income, the prestige. But underneath it all, I felt disconnected, unfulfilled, and out of alignment with who I really was. I was checking boxes, not living my passion.

That experience taught me something important: achieving a goal doesn’t mean you’re living your purpose. I had to learn the difference between external success and inner fulfillment. That’s what eventually led me to walk away from that world and pursue what truly lit me up, helping people rewire their minds and manifest a life that actually feels good.
