Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Kierra Dixson of Phoenix

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kierra Dixson. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Kierra, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day really set the tone. I like to wake up early, before the world gets noisy, and start with prayer and gratitude—that’s my grounding. From there, I’ll hydrate, journal, and review my top three priorities for the day. Some mornings I’m preparing to catch a flight, other mornings I’m deep into client strategies or content planning, but I always make space for stillness before diving into work. That balance between structure and flexibility keeps me aligned no matter where I am in the world.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kierra Dixson, and I’m the founder of Melaninaire Public Relations, HAÜS OF PR, and the Melaninaire Foundation. Melaninaire PR is a full-service public relations agency helping entrepreneurs, creatives, and organizations elevate their visibility and impact. HAÜS OF PR is its sister brand—a modern, self-service platform that empowers entrepreneurs to be their own publicist with tools, templates, and education.

Alongside those, I launched the Melaninaire Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to mentorship, career guidance, and community outreach. Our focus is on creating access—whether that’s helping job seekers, supporting new entrepreneurs, or meeting basic needs in the community.

What makes my work unique is the balance between accessibility and luxury. I’ve seen how many brilliant entrepreneurs get overlooked because they don’t have the budget or access to traditional PR. Through my brands and the foundation, I bridge that gap—offering both full-service support and do-it-yourself education, while also giving back through nonprofit initiatives.

Right now, I’m excited about expanding HAÜS OF PR with new educational resources and growing the Melaninaire Foundation’s outreach programs. At the core, everything I create is about visibility, empowerment, and giving people the tools to show up as their best selves in business and in life.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my mother. Watching her, I learned what resilience and consistency look like. She showed me that no matter what challenges you face, you show up, do the work, and lead with integrity. That foundation has carried me through entrepreneurship, client work, and even the way I build my brands—work isn’t just about tasks, it’s about commitment and purpose

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell her: you are more than enough, exactly as you are. Don’t shrink yourself to fit into spaces that don’t honor your light. The things that make you different are the very things that will set you apart in business and in life.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me—but it’s the polished version. As a publicist, I understand the importance of presentation, so what you see publicly is curated with intention. But it’s not a mask—it’s genuinely me, just the most aligned and elevated version. Behind the scenes I’m still the same person: creative, driven, prayerful, and grounded. I just believe in showing up in a way that reflects the standard I want for myself and my brands.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my role, and my possessions, what would remain is my character, my faith, and the impact I’ve made on others. At the end of the day, relationships, integrity, and the ability to empower others are what truly endure.
