Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Diego Perez

We recently had the chance to connect with Diego Perez and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Diego, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yesterday watching Borat´s movie

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Diego, I am a local artist. I specialize in oil painting in a Baroque style. I play with irony and sarcasm.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My first solo show. I was so excited and happy to sell my paintings at 15 years old.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Never give up!!!

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, but sometimes I have to be very careful about my words and bring to the community my best version of what I want to share.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
My work is evidence that you have to fight for your dreams. I want to share that sometimes the way could be complicated but you have to keep going on the journey to become what you want.
