Bonny, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
When it comes to what matters most to me, I would say energy is paramount. I firmly believe that the energy someone brings into a space can shape the entire dynamic. In my experience, working closely with founders and brands, I’ve noticed that a positive, enthusiastic attitude is crucial. When someone exudes positivity, it fosters collaboration and creativity. On the other hand, negativity or passive-aggressiveness can be a barrier, regardless of how excellent the work is. I’ve learned that some individuals may project their own unhappiness, and that can affect the overall environment. For me, bringing in and maintaining good energy is essential for creating a thriving and supportive atmosphere.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Bonny, the Editor-in-Chief of Glitz Magazine. Glitz Magazine is an international publication that focuses on fashion, entertainment, lifestyle, and inspiration. We’ve evolved from our roots as a pan-African magazine to become a global platform, showcasing diverse voices and stories from around the world.

What makes Glitz Magazine special is our commitment to authenticity and organic growth. We aim to inspire our readers by highlighting not only the latest trends but also the stories behind them. Right now, we’re focused on building our reputation and expanding our reach, and we’re excited about the future!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was deeply connected to my mom. From a young age, she was my biggest cheerleader, always encouraging me and instilling in me the belief that I could achieve anything. Even when I faced bullying as a young girl, she reminded me that I was beautiful, confident, and destined for greatness. That unwavering faith she had in me made me realize that if she believed in me, then I could overcome any obstacle the world threw my way.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to be kind, be patient, and be resilient. Do what you love without seeking validation from others. The world will always have opinions, but the true fulfillment comes from doing what makes your heart sing. Remember that your passion is your guiding light, and as long as you stay true to it, you’ll leave a meaningful legacy.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that authenticity and passion are at the heart of everything I do. They know that I deeply value genuine connections and meaningful impact over superficial achievements. They’d also say that I prioritize growth, both personal and professional, and that I genuinely care about making a positive difference in the world.

I hope people remember me as someone who was dedicated to making a positive impact on the world around her. I want my legacy to be one of empowerment and inspiration, particularly for young women in the fashion and lifestyle industries. I hope they tell stories of how Glitz Magazine not only showcased talent but also created a platform for meaningful conversations and authentic connections. I’d love for people to remember that I approached everything with passion, integrity, and a genuine desire to lift others up.
