Agnes Chau shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Agnes, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I am most proud of building my Summon Your Inner Dragon!™ program. The series of courses and books are to guide people to establish healthy boundaries and live an amazing life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As the founder of Empowered Heart, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, I created the Summon Your Inner Dragon!™ program to guide people to establish healthy boundaries, rise above the fray, and move from overwhelm to grounded confidence.
Drawing on my experience as an award-winning transformational life coach, brain health trainer, and retired aerospace engineering executive, I combine strategic thinking with heart-centered wisdom to guide people in reclaiming their power.
The program teaches mental and verbal jiu-jitsu to defend against attacks from strangers, non-strangers, yourself, and energy vampires.
The strength you’ve been seeking has always been within you—now it’s time to awaken it by summoning your inner dragon.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The earliest memory of feeling powerful was when I was 12 years old. I was standing in the schoolyard when a bully touched my face and tested my boundary. I looked at her and said, “Don’t touch my face.” She mocked me, but I didn’t back down.
She never touched me again.
That was the first time I felt the quiet power of defending myself—and knowing I was worth defending.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience. This is the ability to bounce back from life’s challenges. It’s the ability to rebuild and reinvent oneself. Resilience leads to lifelong success.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to creating the Summon Your Inner Dragon!™ series of courses, books, and workshops, no matter how long it takes to create a movement.
As a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu certified Women Empowered Instructor, I recognize that not everyone is ready to learn physical self-defense or walk into a martial arts school. However, everyone deserves to learn to defend themselves verbally and mentally.
It’s important to establish healthy boundaries to protect your peace, your energy, and your worth.
Everyone deserves to know they’re worth defending.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I breathe into my divine heart space and connect with my Higher Self (aka my superconscious, my intuition, my Higher mind) and know that I am aligned with my divine path.
