Today we’d like to introduce you to Sluggah2Times.

Hi Sluggah2Times, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Originally from Louisville, KY, my mother relocated us to the middle of the desert in search of a better life and opportunity, not realizing trouble was everywhere. Adjusting through the culture shock and consistently moving around I found my anchor in music. It was my icebreaker, my security blanket, and my confidence.

I have been living on my own since 14 forced me to have to grow up fast and created the man you get today. After having my daughter at 19 I had to make a choice on what I was going to do give up and conform or go after everything that belongs to me and mines. I have been through hell and back so not can defer me. If I fail, it’s my fault.

Recently won Rap Song of The Year 2022 for my single “RUMORS’.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely has not been a smooth road. Was in and out of trouble having to find my own way and learn for myself with no type of guidance. Being without a home sleeping at parks, laundromats, 24 hr stores, etc. Forced to make choices based off of survival rage was my life. 

I could take the blame from myself and state I was hanging with the wrong crowd, however being honest with myself I realized “I” was the wrong crowd. I’m not proud of my actions but I wouldn’t change anything. Going forward I’ve been focusing on being a better person for myself and those around me. Life isn’t easy but it’s worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist and songwriter. The first thing that makes me stand out is how I sound vocally. You can’t say I sound like anybody, so I have been told. I believe a few other ways I stand out is versatility, not one song that sounds the same, and my authenticity. You can’t fake pain or passion.

It’s in you not on you. I’m proud of the success I and the team have made within the last year or two years. From the “Sluggah Wur U Been?” EP reaching over 100K Streams to “RUMORS” Winning Rap Song of the Year 2022. 

Currently working on releasing more singles and features for the rest of 2023 might throw in an EP if the move is right. Looking forward to giving our fans some new music.
