We recently had the chance to connect with Kevin Bradley Jr and have shared our conversation below.
Kevin, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending quality time with my family, especially while on vacation, is one of my greatest joys outside of work
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kevin Bradley Jr a tattoo artist and proud owner of Sea of Ink Tattoo Studio in Mesa, Arizona, where creativity, precision, and passion come together to create lasting art. Tattooing has been more than just a profession for me, it’s a lifelong pursuit of expression and connection through ink. I specialize in bold, vibrant color work, and I take pride in creating pieces that are as unique as the individuals who wear them.
This year, I’ve been doing more guest spots across the U.S., which has opened up exciting opportunities for more people to get tattooed by me in person no matter where they’re located. It’s been an amazing way to connect with new clients and fellow artists in different cities.
I’ve also recently completed a specialized seminar with The School of Ink and Art, where I hope to help other artists improve their approach to color work. Sharing what I’ve learned over the years and helping other artists grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey so far.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was seeing life through my kids’ eyes has been the most special and grounding experience. Their curiosity, honesty, and sense of wonder constantly remind me to slow down and appreciate the little things. At the same time, having the opportunity to travel and experience how the world works through different cultures has been equally powerful. It’s eye-opening and inspiring to see the beauty in our differences and how creativity, tradition, and human connection transcend borders.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was never a time when giving up was an option,it’s simply never crossed my mind. Of course, there have been slower periods, but I believe that’s when your drive and determination truly matter. It all comes down to how hard you’re willing to push yourself, stay focused, and keep moving forward.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
One of the people I admire most is my wife. Her character is a powerful combination of strength, intelligence, and grace. She has the ability and resolve to overcome anything that might try to harm her or our family, but what’s truly inspiring is that she does it with kindness, composure, and integrity. Her presence is both grounding and uplifting, and she sets a standard of character that both women and men can look up to.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I only had ten years left, I honestly wouldn’t stop anything. I truly love what I do,the work, the art, the connections I build, and the opportunities I create for myself and my family. Every day, I get to live a life that’s meaningful to me, and that’s something I’m deeply grateful for. I’d keep doing exactly what I’m doing now pouring passion into my craft, making memories with my loved ones, and continuing to grow.
