Kathy Baggett’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Kathy Baggett and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kathy, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me right now is a whirlwind of activity—especially since we’re in the middle of busy season. My calendar is packed from the moment I wake up. I start off with back-to-back meetings, often with team members or clients to discuss upcoming events, ensure everything is on track, and review the progress of various events.

After that, I’m diving into event logistics—scheduling appointments with clients, organizing site tours, and making sure every little detail is in place. I also spend a significant amount of time preparing quotes, answering a constant stream of phone calls, and keeping everything updated to ensure the team is aligned and informed.

In between, I’m trying to stay on top of emails and other admin tasks like paperwork. Honestly, it’s a juggle to manage everything without losing my sanity, but somehow it all gets done.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Kathy Baggett, and I’m the Director of Catering. I’m in charge of events at both Verrado Golf Club/Verrado Grille and The Vic Bar & Kitchen. We’re all about creating memorable experiences that combine delicious food, incredible views, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a casual lunch after a round of golf or a special celebration, we aim to deliver a dining experience that’s second to none.

One of the things that truly sets us apart is our stunning location at the base of the White Tank Mountains. The views are breathtaking, and they provide the perfect backdrop for any occasion. Our menu blends classic American fare with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and we’re always updating it to keep things exciting for our guests.

As the Director of Catering, I also oversee our event offerings, ensuring that every gathering—from intimate dinners to large corporate events—runs smoothly and exceeds expectations. We’re continuously working on new ways to bring people together, whether it’s through live music, seasonal events, or custom catering packages designed to fit every occasion.

At Verrado Grille and The Vic Bar & Kitchen, it’s all about making our guests feel at home while enjoying great food, drinks, and company. I’m passionate about creating experiences that leave lasting memories, and I’m thrilled to be part of this amazing team and vibrant community.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me the most about work. She showed me the importance of having a strong work ethic, staying consistent, and taking pride in what you do. She always led by example—showing that hard work and dedication not only get results, but also build character. Her guidance really shaped how I approach my own work today.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was sad or scared as a child, what helped was wrapping up in my fuzzy blanket. It always made me feel safe, warm, and comforted, like everything would be okay.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that my family is the most important thing to me. They know that I always put my family first and that spending time with them means everything to me.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
f I retired tomorrow, my customers would miss my attention to detail and the way I make events easy for them. I always focus on handling the little things so they can relax and truly enjoy their special day.
