Hi Vijay, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Markate was first conceived in 2016. The idea was to be a virtual marketplace where we could connect consumers with professionals. In the first few quarters of operation, we realized that our market needed more saturated by businesses with a similar model. While trying to decide the direction we needed to take the company, a devastating series of events helped shape Markate into what it is today. First, Hurricane Harvey hit Texas and Louisiana in 2017. We knew that many people needed help and that our current business model needed to be better for Markate in the long run. So, we stopped what we were doing and put all our efforts into disaster relief. We started connecting people needing aid, rescue, food, water, etc., with those with the resources to help. We were able to help connect so many people that once Hurricane Irma hit the Florida area just a short time later, we already knew how to serve those in need and those offering support effectively. This philanthropic endeavor was not only good for the soul but also helped us determine the plan for the business. Markate did not make a single dollar and spent funds keeping websites like harveyrescue.com active while taking on this rescue connection project; it was the best investment we could have made. It goes to show that good things happen to people that do good. Now, Markate is a Customer Relations Management (CRM) tool that is effective, efficient, and dedicated to giving professionals the tools they need to help service their communities. We came from humble beginnings and want to continue to make our communities work better together.

I’m the Founder and Managing Director of Markate. We are on a mission to build the most powerful Business Management platform that helps service businesses create a unique experience for their customers and employees. We are an experienced and innovative leader with a history of success in developing, managing, and launching successful companies, partnerships, and products that generate revenue and reduce operating costs to enable profitable growth.

We’d love to hear about your fond memories from growing up.
I grew up in a humble, small-town neighborhood, and I remember so many fun times surrounded by friends playing cricket, soccer, badminton in various seasons of the year, swimming in the lakes, and cycling.
