Inspiring Conversations with Troy Rivera of Rivera Life Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Troy Rivera.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hmmm! Becoming a coach was a great journey I took. I learned so much about myself and how I can share with others this journey. My highest love language is Acts of Service. Because of this love language and my career of being an educator for over 20 years, I am passionate about the work coaches do for others. I personally have my own coach, and the results I get through my sessions have changed my life.

So, I made the decision to get certified in coaching and start my own business. I started my coaching business three years ago. The process was a bit challenging in considering what type of coach I wanted to be. I am passionate about coaching work and I wanted to offer services to others that helped them achieve the best version of themselves. Now, this business is challenging because there are misunderstandings. I am not fixing a person because I believe we are not broken, but we just need guidance or support to achieve our dreams. I focus on the mindset because when you look at the root of all issues, the mindset plays a role in everything.

My favorite saying is, “Mindset is EVERYTHING!”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Man, there have been many great lessons learned; however, the greatest lesson I have learned along the way is that it takes work and commitment. When you get a coach, you are held accountable for the work that needs to be done, and you have to do the work to see the results.

Because I have my own coach, I live the experience and do the work. I learned that for things to change and happen, it is up to me to do it. A coach is a person who pushes me and holds me to my goals and offers great support throughout the process. This is what I do as well with those that I work with.

We’ve been impressed with Rivera Life Coaching, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Yikes, tough question because I don’t want people to think I’m just like any other coach. What I would like the world to know about me is when you work with me, you will get results and I am fun, passionate, and inspiring. Also, through the work, you will be pushed to become the version you have always wanted to be. As a coach, I take the work seriously and I will walk beside you all the way.

Having been through so much in my life, and if you want to know, let’s have coffee, coaching has made me a better person and I’ve learned so much about how to move forward and become the best version of myself. Also, as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am a coach for all and want the best version for everyone.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I sure do. Don’t be afraid. Take the risk because it may be the one thing that changes your life forever.
