Inspiring Conversations with Trevor Johnston of Wine Girl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trevor Johnston

Hi Trevor, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started our journey back in late 2019 building out our dream wine bar. It was prefect timing in that Covid hit the beginning of 2020. It was quite perfect timing as the day we received our certificate to open, the entire state had shut down bars. The stress was unreal! Luckily we weren’t closed too long and we’re able to open up at limited capacities allowing us to bring our vision to the public. From day one, it was a hit. We’ve only gown since opening our second location in Napa Valley in April 2023 and announcing our third location in San Diego to be opening in the first quarter 2025.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely was not smooth sailing haha! Within the first year of being open, we had multiple closures and limitations to capacities as well as the riots back in 2020 that put curfews out for the bar industry! Again, luckily we made it through all the bumps and were able to grow quickly and expand our brand to more markets!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Wine Girl?
Wine Girl sets out to reimagine the wine bar experience. We approach our concept with the customers experience as our product. We set out to build spaces that are indoor/outdoor and vibes you’ll never want to leave! Our aesthetics are completely opposite from what everyone has come to know wine bars to be. We will always have our signature swings, photo opps, extremely popular merch wall and more. We are most proud of the shear amount of support and love our customers have for our brand. You are bound to see Wine Girl merch being posted on friends socials soon!

What matters most to you? Why?
The customer experience is by far the MOST that matters to us! As we grow, it is even more important that each location gives the Wine Girl experience. When customers walk into our Scottsdale location, their experience will only help Napa Valley and soon to be San Diego!
