Today we’d like to introduce you to Tresnae Ramsey.
Hi Tresnae, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Thank you for creating space for me to share a bit of my story! From a childhood spent traveling the US with my amazing family to discovering my passion for design and entrepreneurship, I have been blessed to create a space for women like my mom, sisters, and me to celebrate life’s greatest moments.
Growing up in a family that moved frequently due to my dad, Kevin Ramsey’s career as a football coach, my three sisters and I were homeschooled by our mother, Doreen Ramsey, who taught us lessons filled with adventure, creativity, and love. Her passion for interior design and fashion had a profound impact on me, inspiring me to pursue a BA degree in Design Studies at Arizona State University. After graduation, I spent several years working at tech startups, where my entrepreneurial spirit began to take shape.
In 2020, as the pandemic unfolded, it served as a pivotal moment for me, compelling me to slow down and reevaluate my priorities. I realized that supporting entrepreneurs in the startup companies I had worked for wasn’t enough; it was time to pursue my own entrepreneurial aspirations. Seizing the opportunity, I took a bold step and chased my dreams. I discovered a chance to acquire a charming, 100 year-old bungalow and set about transforming it into a beautiful haven for women. Together with my mom, Doreen, we joyfully renovated the property that blossomed into the Phoenix Flower House.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Reflecting on my journey, my greatest challenge has been living with Endometriosis, a chronic pain disease, which has been a constant battle since my adolescence. This has often made it difficult to balance running a small business and the physical challenges associated with this condition. My family has been a huge support system in helping me accomplish my goals and dreams despite the frequent pain I experience. Much like a flower that pushes through the soil to reach the sunlight, I refuse to be held back by my condition.
Endometriosis has taught me invaluable lessons in faith and resilience, shaping me into the person I am today. By being open and transparent about my challenges, I have fostered a sense of empathy and compassion that allows me to connect with others on a deeper level. This openness has encouraged a dialogue about the challenges we all face in our lives. Building this nurturing environment, where everyone feels safe and unbound, mirrors the essence of a thriving garden. It is this very atmosphere that we strive to create for our guests at the Phoenix Flower House.
I’d like to think that my journey has been akin to the life cycle of a flower – full of twists and turns, but ultimately leading to a beautiful and vibrant bloom. I am grateful for the lessons and experiences that have allowed me to grow, and I am excited to share the warmth and support of the Phoenix Flower House with others.
As you know, we’re big fans of Phoenix Flower House. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For those just starting out, I’d like to share some valuable advice that has profoundly inspired me. I recall encountering the powerful phrase, “The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret.” This resonates with me deeply and serves as a guiding principle in my life.
I’ve learned that it’s more worthwhile to endure the temporary discomfort or sacrifices associated with discipline than to live with the regret of missed opportunities or unrealized dreams. This could involve waking up early to exercise, working late to finish a project, investing in your business, or devoting time and energy to personal development rather than indulging in short-lived distractions. It’s essential to strike a balance and cultivate an attitude of gratitude for the milestones and small victories along the way, celebrating each achievement as a testament to your hard work and dedication.
Life is filled with surprises and challenges, but remaining committed to your goals will keep you on track. Have faith in yourself and your ability to accomplish whatever your heart desires. Be resourceful, adaptive, and persistent in transforming your dreams into reality. I believe that if we strive to live our lives with a positive mindset and unwavering determination, we’ll live a life free of regret and unlock our potential for a bright and fulfilling future.
