Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Jozwiak.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Before moving out to Arizona to attend ASU, I was born & raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Upon graduating in 2019, I had already had my foot in the door in the social media marketing industry. Throughout college, I had an internship at The Mayfair Group and started on the marketing team at Riot Hospitality Group as well! I instantly fell in love with social media marketing and how it just absolutely fueled my creative juices! Once I graduated, I went to another marketing agency for a few months and then, of course, COVID hit. Eventually, in June of 2020, I lost my job as many people did across the world. This really pushed me out of my comfort zone with what my next move was going to be. I knew marketing positions were usually the first on the chopping block when it comes to budget cuts within companies and this knowledge showed from the very limited job listings.
This was my big push though! I finally had the free time and overall freedom to just go all in on my own business so I took the leap and launched Radiate Social LLC, a boutique influencer marketing and social media agency for lifestyle brands.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t always been easy. I’ve had to learn how to wear every single hat that it takes to run a business when I was used to only being a digital marketer. On top of that, I always worked for other people/companies who had salespeople to gather their clients, I’ve never been on that end of the business so that was a big lesson to learn. Being a one-woman show is definitely not as easy as some make it out to be!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Radiate Social is a boutique influencer marketing and social media agency for beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands! I specialize in running and creating influencer marketing campaigns for brands from the ground up as well as running and maintaining their social media. All of these practices are assured to be the latest and up-to-date because as some of us know, Instagram changes every day!
What sets me apart from the rest is my emphasis on relationships. I want my clients to feel like we are a match made in heaven! I truly believe that when there is a good relationship established and open communication through the process, more work gets done and less mistakes are made. When we’re on the same page, you don’t have to worry about your brand image being translated the wrong way! This is all essential so you can focus on your business and trust that your social media is hitting your brand needs and your business goals.
My top three values that I carry throughout my business are transparency, inclusion, and high-quality service. I believe in honest and open communication with everything that I do. The best projects let us speak openly about what’s working and what isn’t. I also always try to educate you along the way so you never are lost with what’s happening with your brand on social media. In terms of inclusion, I value women, women-identifying, and LGBTQIA business owners and their passion for their work. My goal is to have your voice be heard through your craft via social media. I do this by amplifying your brand and brand story to create better connections with your audience while educating you on best practices along the way. And finally, with high-quality service, this is a marathon, not a sprint. In the world of community and influence quality reigns supreme. I work to make sure you know you’re putting out content you would feel proud of every time.
I want everyone to know that I understand that social media & influencer marketing is hard to manage when you’re a business owner with a million other things to do, but it doesn’t have to be! My do-it-for-you services (Influencer Marketing Campaigns + Social Media Management) are here to make your life easier by handing those essential marketing strategies off to me. If you do have the lay of the land with your business in these areas though, I also offer one-off services for those times when you just need a little help with a little less commitment!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson learned is that it’s okay to say no and that it’s okay when someone leaves.
Saying yes to every single client that comes through my inbox is just burnout waiting to happen. As I said before, I have a big emphasis on relationships with my clients! With that comes a series of vetting to make sure that we’re both a good fit for each other! If we’re not, then I happily recommend other colleagues that I think will help them succeed and if we are then the onboarding process begins! I went into this at the beginning thinking that I had to say yes to every client inquiry even if their business didn’t excite me and that just lead me to feeling burnt out and bored. Learning how to niche down and only accepting clients that I connect with and excite me makes the journey a lot more fun!
Also, a client leaving after their contract ends isn’t the end of the world. Obviously, I want every client that I adore to stay forever and ever because I truly love working on their projects! But as a business owner myself, I understand when clients need to pivot and transition for more change. And besides, they always come back! 😉
