Inspiring Conversations with Shay Segev of Ella Lee Homes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay Segev.

Hi Shay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I came to America from Israel 8 years ago and landed in Arizona. Shortly after, I found my passion for building when I started working with a luxury home developer a couple of years back. I started to spend all of my spare time learning the business and what I needed to do in order to succeed.

After that, I decided to get my contractor’s license which proved to be a challenge of its own due to the language barrier. My wife and I had a beautiful little girl named Ella Lee during this time, which is why I decided to name my business after her. Now we have a thriving business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting your own business is a challenge in and of its own! I think the biggest obstacle that can stand in one’s way is the fear of starting something on your own. I had to really step outside of my comfort zone and push myself in order to succeed.

I don’t think that anything is handed out easily in life. If you want something, you have to work extremely hard at it.
