Today we’d like to introduce you to Seann Cook
Hi Seann, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a little girl, I never dreamt that I would grow up tattooing nipples! I actually fell into this quite by accident. I’m a licensed permanent make up artist and learned about 3-D areola tattooing by going to a permanent makeup conference. Four months later, I was training out of state with one of the United States top paramedical artists. It’s not an easy industry to get into. You have to constantly be marketing yourself to plastic surgeons and keeping up on social media. I was lucky enough that one of the plastic surgeons in Phoenix, saw my work and took a liking to me. I now travel from Oregon to Arizona four times a year to perform 3-D nipple tattoos on breast cancer survivors.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges I face is working with insurance companies to get these breast cancer clients approved. Because I am a tattoo artist and not a medical professional, it’s much harder to work with insurance companies.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Beauty Edit?
My business is about making women feel beautiful. Not only do cancer survivors lose their breasts and nipples, but they lose Their hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, etc…. That’s where I come in and help make them feel confident again. I Specialize in 3-D areola tattoos, but I also perform permanent make up, including brows, lips, and eyeliner. I also can tattoo 3-D belly buttons and 3-D toenails and fingernails. I am trained in camouflage scars and stretch marks as well. I think what set me apart from artist and Arizona is that I am licensed in Oregon, which is one of the hardest states to become a tattoo artist. The state of Arizona does not require a license to tattoo. I see many bad, tattoos out there. I’m really proud of my five star rating. my clients are not just patients to me. They become lifelong friends sometimes.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
Just this year, I’m finally able to accept most major medical insurance companies. Unfortunately, I cannot accept state Medicare or Medicaid. These are the clients that need to use insurance the most. If anyone wants to donate to clients without insurance or Medicare or Medicaid insurance, that would be absolutely amazing.
