Inspiring Conversations with Samantha Mizioch of Sam’s Stop and Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Mizioch.

Hi Samantha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
So, honestly?!
I started out not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I just knew deep down I wanted to be a mom one day. When that finally happened, everything changed for me. Being a mom lit this fire in me and I wanted more. Not just for me, but for my kids and the kind of life I wanted us to build.

Through friends in the mix, I found farmers markets. At first, it was just this fun place to hang out, but then I realized it was so much more. I found friends, I found community, and I found out I was actually really good at it all-Selling, connecting with people, cheering on other small businesses..it just came natural. I learned so much from working alongside others, and that eventually pushed me to open The Oiled Hippy Shop. (Which is so crazy because back in 2021 I even got interviewed about it!)

I still love making products and living that natural lifestyle, but my heart really landed on hosting events. Like, bringing people together is my happy place. Seeing families, neighbors, and local businesses all in one space, laughing and connecting-it just makes sense for me. It’s what happy feels like for me.

For us as a family, it’s always been about connection. We’re in sports, we’ve made friends with other local families, and everything we do is rooted in community. I am an Ohio girl myself, and I was raised around cook-offs, air shows and lots of love!
Hosting festivals and markets is just an extension of that—it’s our way of creating something fun and meaningful for everyone.

What I’ve learned through that

Here’s the thing- you don’t need to have it all figured out. I definitely didn’t. But every little step, every “why not?” moment, it all adds up. I went from “I just want to be a mom” to running events that inspire my kids and connect my community. So if you’re in your 30s ( or just entering like me) and still wondering what’s next-trust me-you’re not behind. Your path can be messy, surprising, and still so beautiful. Just keep showing up with heart, and the rest will fall into place. ✨

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh my lanta! It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road-there were times I cried in the car after events or felt like I was in way over my head. But every challenge taught me something, pushed me to grow, and reminded me why I started in the first place. The bumps in the road have given me my strength, my heart, and honestly, my groove really.
Some of my biggest obstacles have been learning how to work with partners, navigate complicated business situations, and still find my own identity while raising three beautiful kids and growing our family. Balancing being “me” with being “mom” hasn’t always been easy, but it’s made me stronger.

There have been challenges personally and professionally that stretched me in ways I didn’t expect, but each one has shaped me as an entrepreneur. The truth is—being an entrepreneur is full of obstacles. The difference now is that I know how to face them with more patience, confidence, and heart.

Every day still brings something new, and I know tomorrow will throw another challenge my way. But instead of letting it scare me, I look at it as another chance to grow ✨⚡️ whether that’s as an organizer, a neighbor, a mom, a wife, or a leader. That’s the beauty of the journey- the struggles are what make you better.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
With Sam’s Stop & Shop, I’ve made it a point to be different than other organizers. I never wanted this to feel like “just another farmers market.” For me, it’s about connection, quality, and making sure everyone-vendors, families, and the community-feels like they’re truly part of something special!

At Sam’s Stop & Shop, vendors aren’t just booths-they’re family’s!

What sets me apart is the way I pour into my vendors. I don’t just accept them and move on. I celebrate them, I congratulate them, and I make sure they have everything they need to succeed-graphics, captions, advice, ideas, and encouragement. I treat them like family because, honestly, they become family. We don’t just see each other at events; we meet for coffee, share meals, celebrate birthdays, and cheer each other on in life. That’s the heart of my brand-real, raw connection.

I’m also really proud of how high-quality and thoughtful our events are. This upcoming Phoenix Food Festival is a perfect example. It’s not just a place to shop-it’s a place to gather, celebrate, eat, play, and feel part of the community. We’re moving past the “market” vibe into something bigger; family-friendly festivals that are all about food, fun, and celebration. Phoenix has plenty of farmers markets. What we’re building is something different: an experience that brings people together in the most joyful way.

As for me personally-I’d say what makes me unique as a leader is the heart I bring to all of this. I’m hardworking, determined, and endlessly creative. People describe me as caring, passionate, and community-minded. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t just put on an event and walk away-I stay in the trenches, solve problems, and lift others up. I think that’s why our brand feels so authentic. It’s not just about business..it’s about people, family, and creating something that leaves everyone a little better than when they came.

And at the end of the day, that’s what I want people to feel when they think of Sam’s Stop & Shop –
That they were seen, celebrated, and truly part of something bigger than themselves. 💖 and they walked away from their favorite place with their new favorite thing!

How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t about instant money or flashy wins-it’s about consistency, persistence, and showing up every single day, even when it’s hard. It’s putting in the work, making connections, and being raw and real in the day-to-day. Success is about being better than you were yesterday and showing others what that can look like, too.

I’ve learned that growth isn’t a straight line. Sometimes you move forward, sometimes you take steps back, and both are part of the process. You can’t grow by standing still. To me, success is the willingness to keep moving, to keep learning, and to keep showing up with heart, no matter what direction the day takes.

And honestly? Some days success just means surviving. As a mom, a wife, and a business owner living in these hot Arizona summers, there are days where simply making it through with my family by my side is the win. Success doesn’t always have to look shiny-it can be quiet, sweaty, messy, and real. But it’s still success, because it means we’re still here, still growing, and still pushing forward together.
