Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronnie Harris.
Hi Ronnie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
“This is your massage, not mine”
At The Knotted Body, my mission is to ensure each client feels valued and each service is based on what works for them. I always say, “this is your massage, not mine”.
As a male therapist, I’ve faced the challenge of being told I might not get booked as much as female therapists. Yet with my passion drove me to receive 90 to 100 clients, them questioning, why I haven’t started my own business.
After spending time in mediation and solitude I took the necessary steps to bring The Knotted Body to fruition.
The love for what I do as well as the passion for my clients and the positive energy they bring fuels my commitment.
I see myself doing what I love for the rest of my life and hope to help as many people as possible along the way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
“I embraced the challenges and obstacles that came with entering the small business industry. The biggest hurdle was attracting my first clients and sharing my passion. By consistently seeking out new opportunities, I was able to grow my business and gain invaluable experience in both the business and massage worlds.”
We’ve been impressed with The Knotted Body , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
“Three years into my massage career, I felt a deeper purpose calling me. I realized that true healing wasn’t about me or my routine—it was about the client. That’s how I developed my personal motto: ‘It’s your massage, not mine.’ My goal is to do more than just help people relax; it’s to create a truly life-changing experience tailored to each person. A powerful moment came when a client in recovery from addiction told me that my massages were a key part of his journey to sobriety.”
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
“Starting my own business was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. It was a terrifying leap of faith, made even more daunting by the chorus of voices telling me it wouldn’t work. Their skepticism and doubt made the weight of the decision heavier. But in that moment, I realized my passion was stronger than their fears. I choose to face that uncertainty every single day because this isn’t just a business—it’s the truest expression of my purpose. The struggles are constant, but I’m willing to bet on myself and my passion, again and again.”
