Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Engel.
Rebecca, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My own journey through pregnancy (5 in total – 4 live and 1 miscarriage), birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding is really what led me here. Each of my experiences were so different, but also in many ways the same – combining both joy and struggle. Through them all, God kept showing me how much mothers need support, encouragement, and truth spoken over them in these tender seasons. I started learning everything I could about birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding – from various trainings to podcasts to reading books. I started to feel this heart pull that motherhood isn’t about surviving, it’s about thriving and building a legacy for our families. That’s how Beloved Motherhood was born. Now I get to walk with moms through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, bleding evidence-based care with faith-fueld encouragement. My heart is really to meet moms where they are – without pressure, without guilt – and remind them that they’re already enough, already loved, and that God chose them for their children. My goal is to nurture the mother as the heart of the family, and inform the father as the head of the family, altogether working to build a cohesive and holistic family unit.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a road filled with many ups and downs. I’ve struggled with motivation, imposter syndrome, and having to take extended breaks every few years whenever I got pregnant, causing me to feel like I have started over more than I can count. Through all that, when I am able to help a mother, see the joy in her face as she really comes into her motherhood with confidence and grace, and the reviews that I get, have brought so much joy and purpose into my life and my business. Since having my last child, I have become more motivated to really push this business off the ground and see where it can take me. After that it has been a pretty smooth road. My own story and the stories of my clients are what drive me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Beloved Motherhood?
Beloved Motherhood is all about coming alongside mothers in one of the most tender, transformational seasons of life – pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I serve as a birth doula, postpartum doula, and breastfeeding counselor throughout the valley, and I specialize in blending two things: evidence-based guidance and grace-filled encouragement.
I think what sets Beloved Motherhood apart is that I see motherhood as sacred and God-ordained. God, being the creator of life, having made us in His image has also given us the blessing of being able to bring forth life as well. I don’t just look at the birth itself, or the feeing, or the recovery – I look at the whole picture of the mother and her family. My approach is faith-rooted, but also really practical. Moms know that when they work with me, they’re going to be seen, supported, and equipped with tools that are both research-backed and deeply encouraging.
I’m probably best known for offering not just support, but a safe space where moms don’t feel judged or pressured. So many women already carry feelings of ‘I’m not enough’ (I know I carried that a lot as a mother) – and I want every mom I serve to walk away knowing she is beloved, chosen, and capable, just as God created her to be.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Beloved Motherhood is building a legacy for the families that I serve – not just helping moms ‘get through’ these seasons, but helping them thrive, find joy, and lay a foundation for their families that’s strong and grace-filled. Beyond doula and breastfeeding support, I’m developing courses and a podcast that will make this kind of Christ-centered, practical encouragement even more accessible to moms everywhere.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
People are always surprised to find out that in the middle of running my business, raising four little ones, homeshooling, and maintaining my household, I still find time to protect a full Sabbath rest every Saturday. It’s a rhythm that keeps me grounded and reminds me that my work is important – but it isn’t all up to me.
