Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Katbeh.
Hi Nadia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved baking, ever since I was a kid.
Funny enough, I did not take my passion for baking seriously until after I had graduated from University last year. I realized after a few months of applying to jobs that I really did not want to work on my degree. But instead, I wanted to start my own baking business. And so it happened! In August 2021, I decided to start ”Sugar Fairy Bakeshop”.
And what a journey it has become. I’m so happy that I was able to accomplish so much in such little time. I can definitely say, I have become pretty known in my community and at the farmer’s markets, I currently attend.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely NOT been a smooth road at all!
I feel like a lot of people have no idea just how hard it is to manage your own business. It is very difficult. I am the baker, the social media manager, the person who buys all the baking supplies, the person you see at farmers’ markets, and more.
These 7 months have not been easy for me, but I would not trade them for the world.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Sugar Fairy Bakeshop?
Sugar Fairy Bakeshop specializes in cookies and cookie bars. The plan is to have my own storefront one day and be able to offer a variety of different baked goods. I think there are a few things that set me apart from others.
Number one would be my work ethic. I work every day, morning to midnight. I know it is hard to believe but it is the truth. Customer satisfaction is my main priority. So if that means I need to work till midnight, then I will do so. Number two would be the love I have for my job. I truly do not feel like it’s a job.
I’m blessed to be able to do what I love every day. And lastly, my technique and ingredients that I use in my baked goods. I make everything in small batches, using the highest quality ingredients possible. The reason why I make everything in small batches is that I make everything fresh and made to order.

I have to give a shoutout to the most amazing support system ever, my husband, my family. and my father-in-law.
They have been rooting for me since day one. Without them, I really would not be where I am today. I also have the most amazing customers ever!! I am ever so grateful for their love and support.
