Inspiring Conversations with Monique Gallegos of Shop Via Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Gallegos.

Hi Monique, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
What was once a thought, a dream, an idea; has literally became my reality. I first started brainstorming ideas for a business idea when I came to a point in my life and career where I needed a change. I have always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur. So I came up with plan, a need and something I am good at. The small town I was living in at the time was very limited on clothing stores. So I thought it would be the perfect business idea. I initially wanted to sell basic T-shirts with quotes that would inspire women to spread love, lead and feel empowered. My love for fashion and style took over and there was no way I could leave out other clothing.

I launched Shop Via Rose in October of 2020. In the midst of a worldwide pandemic. Nothing made sense during this time so I thought to myself, ” What could possibly go wrong? Just do it!”

I started off with launching our ‘WEW collection’. Our Women Empower Women Collection features simple tees with a big impact. With every purchased WEW Tee a percentage of the sales go towards funding women empowerment workshops and meet-ups. We made our first donation in April of 2021 to a local nonprofit in Arizona that shares the same mission as us; empowering women.

With so many obstacles and setbacks just to get the business off the table, I would always focus back on my “WHY” and kept faith that things will fall into place. I’m so proud to have finally launched the business and get it out there. We still have a lot of work to do and so much more to learn and can’t wait to see where the future takes us.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a challenging road most defiantly. I initially was planning to launch in early of 2020 before the pandemic hit. I started shopping around for a storefront when the pandemic started closing down nonessential businesses. I decided to look to the internet as our main source of sales, marketing, and advertising. I had did my research on ecommerce in the past and had heard that online shopping would eventually take off within a few years. So I had a plan to incorporate an ecommerce platform sooner or later and it just happens to be sooner. Besides the pandemic, there was of course personal life challenges that I had to overcome.

Shop Via Rose wants to inspire women to feel and look their best. Whether it’s in a simple T-shirt or a sexy dress. When women feel their best, they feel empowered, when women feel empowered they take action, create change and inspire others to do the same.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
How do I define success? When I feel as if I have fulfilled my purpose here on earth. Whether that be being the best mother to my children, impacting as many lives as possible, or becoming one of the biggest known fashion clothing brands in the world. Once I’ve reached all my goals and make my mark here in this world, that is when I will feel that I have reached success.
