Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, I set off on an incredible journey that led me to The Ohio State University, where I pursued my passion for dental hygiene, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science. It was during my senior year that fate stepped in, introducing me to the man who would become my husband—19 years of adventure and counting!

After a few rewarding years working in clinical dental hygiene, my life took an unexpected turn when a patient invited me to be a face model at her Mary Kay event. I had loved the products as a teenager, and the chance to try the latest line was thrilling! For four years, I reveled in these beauty essentials—until a furry family member needed surgery and we faced a financial hurdle. That’s when I decided to take a leap of faith: I could join Mary Kay and get the products at half price while building my own business!

Since then, I’ve been on an exhilarating ride, skillfully balancing my dual careers in Mary Kay and dental hygiene. Over the past two decades, we’ve moved through four states and five cities, each relocation a new chapter filled with fresh experiences. The beauty of both my careers is their flexibility—I can take my passions with me wherever life leads. Here’s to embracing every opportunity and making dreams come true!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has been anything but a straight path—it’s been a thrilling adventure filled with twists and turns! Each time we moved, I faced the challenge of navigating the unique licensing requirements for dental hygiene in each state. But instead of feeling daunted, I embraced the opportunity to set up our new home while diving into my Mary Kay business—where the sky’s the limit and there are no territorial restrictions! I have even earned multiple prizes by working my business including 2 diamond rings and 3 day cruise to the Bahamas!

Creating my own schedule each day has been both exhilarating and challenging. As someone who thrives on routine and systematic planning, I discovered that working for myself can be just as demanding—if not more so—than working for others. It’s a constant balancing act, but I’ve learned to harness my passion and dedication, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. Each day is a new adventure, and I’m committed to making it extraordinary!

As you know, we’re big fans of Mary Kay Cosmetics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

One of the aspects I cherish most about my Mary Kay journey is the flexibility it offers. No matter where life takes me, my loyal customers can always find their favorite products with me, creating lasting connections wherever I go.

But the real magic of this opportunity lies in the personal growth I’ve experienced over the past 15 years. Coming from an abusive and dysfunctional background, I’ve faced my share of challenges. With the support of therapists and the uplifting community of my Mary Kay girlfriends, I’ve learned invaluable life lessons in emotional management and self-assessment. This positive environment has transformed me into a better version of myself, and I am endlessly grateful for it.

Now, I’m excited to pass this opportunity on to others, helping them discover their own paths to empowerment and growth. Here’s to uplifting each other and embracing the journey ahead!

Success, to me, is a vibrant tapestry woven from countless threads of growth and progress. I believe the most powerful way to define success is by striving to improve yourself by just 1% every day. It might seem small, but think about it: if you commit to that daily progress, you’ll find yourself transformed by a staggering 365% in just a year!

Sure, many people equate success with making more money, cultivating meaningful relationships, and reaching the top of their fields. But the truth is, those achievements are built on consistent, daily actions. So, I challenge you: what can you do TODAY to move yourself forward? Whether it’s learning something new, making a connection, or simply reflecting on your goals, each small step counts.
