Hi Lien, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My mom and I embarked on an incredible journey, opening our nail salon in September 2020. Her courageous move from Viet Nam with limited financial resources is a testament to her unwavering determination. Despite facing numerous rejections due to lack of experience, she persevered. We explored various business ideas, including a Boba tea shop and online shopping. Then, it dawned on me – with my 5 years of nail experience, why not open a nail salon? When my mom asked if I’d like to join forces, I was hesitant at first, but her trust in me was all the motivation I needed. We found the perfect location, and despite a slow start, with only 2-3 customers a day, I assured my mom that with her trust, I’d make it work. I promised her that within 3 months, our business would flourish. And flourish it did! God blessed us indeed. I kept my promise, and our business has been thriving ever since. I’m beaming with pride, not just for myself, but for my mom, my husband, and our loyal customers who’ve supported us for 6 incredible years.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. We had 2-3 customers a day for first month. Nail technician promised they’d stay but they quit the day we got the key. No nail technician- No customer- affected bad because of covid-19 at the time.

We didn’t have a Mentor at all. I have learned and collected my experience while I was working for someone else at a different nail salons . I watched how they did business and choose the right way for our business.
