Hi Kelcee, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely! I was never into photography growing up like other photographers. I did love taking photos of my animals and the flowers in my backyard. But it wasn’t until 2020 when I got laid off from my job that made me realize I wanted to be my own boss, so I picked up photography and tried photographing people instead of just animals.

Fast forward to 4 years I am a full time intimate wedding & elopement photographer and videographer based in Sedona Arizona traveling all over the PNW and Southwest US.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it’s been a smooth road from when I first started Escape and Adventure in 2021 to now. Of course there’s been struggles of mental health and imposter syndrome, but pushing that negative mindset behind me and continuing to look forward has helped me a bunch.

Negativity is something everyone experiences, whether they admit it or not, it’s just human nature. Reminding yourself you CAN do it is one of the hardest truths to accept. Give yourself grace, take things slow, and never give up. You can accomplish anything!

Escape and Adventure is a photo and video company focused on telling the love stories of couples on their wedding day. I specialize in elopements and intimate weddings, capturing the authentic moments that reflect each couple’s unique journey. What sets me apart is my deep commitment to storytelling through a candid, documentary-style approach. I focus on real emotions and the raw beauty of each moment, ensuring that every image resonates with the couple’s personality and adventure.

I take pride in creating personalized experiences for my clients. From our initial consultation to the final delivery of their photos and films, I work closely with each couple to understand their vision and make it a reality. I believe in the power of nature to enhance the wedding experience, so I often suggest stunning outdoor locations that align with my couples’ personalities.

My goal is to help couples break away from traditional wedding norms and embrace their own unique adventures. Whether it’s hiking to a secluded spot or having a cozy ceremony at a scenic overlook, I’m dedicated to capturing every moment in a way that feels authentic and true to them. Ultimately, I want my clients to cherish their memories and feel the emotions captured in each frame for years to come.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The most important quality to my success I would say is perseverance.

I believe that perseverance is essential in the creative industry, where challenges and setbacks are common. Instead of viewing obstacles as failures, I see them as opportunities for growth and learning. This mindset has pushed me to continually refine my skills and embrace new creative opportunities in photography.
