Inspiring Conversations with Kaylib Jones of Rank Collectors

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylib Jones.

Hi Kaylib, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I have been involved in Digital Marketing for over 10 years, mainly in Social Media Management. I worked in Social Media Management while studying at Arizona State University, getting my Interdisciplinary Degree in Sales & Marketing/Communication. After my internship at a local Digital Marketing Agency, I was hired in 2020 by a 7 figure digital marketing agency that serves Home Service Businesses all around the country. I scaled my way up from the Social Media Manager position into the Director of Operations position I still hold today. My time with this company showed me my ability to deliver amazing client results, and my ceiling was very high. With this in mind, I started my own company, Rank Collectors, a local Digital Marketing Company specializing in the Local Retail space, primarily with Collectibles Professionals. Currently, Rank Collectors is working with collectible shop owners around the world and increasing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
It has been a challenging road, largely due to the work and dedication needed to achieve these results. Going to college full-time, working an unpaid internship 20 hours a week, and having a full-time job was how I spent most of my time in college, not to mention balancing that with my personal life and relationship with my wife. Having a goal for my life and sacrificing in service of that goal made it doable but hardly smooth. Finding the time, offering sleep and leisure, and performing at a high level were highly stressful and challenging. Luckily, I have the most fantastic wife and network of friends that someone could have.

As you know, we’re big fans of Rank Collectors. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
With 10 years of experience in digital marketing, I balance expertise with experience in the service of local retail collectible shop owners. In addition to my expertise, I also spent 5 years in management in the retail collectibles space. I understand the business model and pain points local shop owners face daily. This is what sets me apart. I am not just another company marketing local retail; I have worked directly in the space at a high level. I specialize in Social Media Management, Social Media Ads, Website Design, and Search Engine Optimization.

I am proud of the results I have generated for my client Amazing Discoveries in Tucson, Gilbert, Glendale, and Casa Grande. I have increased the online search results for their site from around 300k searches a month to over 1.2 million search results a month, directly impacting foot traffic, sales, and awareness around their services. I do not settle for results, and I will get my clients from A to Z in terms of the goals they set out for themselves.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk is the precondition for reward. With adequate risk, the possibilities for growth and success will significantly diminish. I have taken a lot of risks in my life and my professional career. The reward you get from capitalizing on risk is usually disproportionately huge. Even if you fail 9 times and succeed once, you will still be in a better position than if you never took any risks.

Leaving my hometown to sign up at ASU was a risk, taking the job at the home service marketing agency was a risk (I had bigger offers with less growth potential at the time), getting married during the pandemic was a risk, starting my business while working full time on a large national marketing company was a considerable risk. Still, these risks have enriched my life and granted me more in return than I could have predicted.
