Inspiring Conversations with João Fadário of Véu Encantado (Encanted Veil)

From a young age, I demonstrated a deep interest in letters. My grandfather, worried about my safety, often kept me at home, depriving me of playing with my classmates in the street. However, this circumstance ended up awakening my love for reading. Even before entering primary school, I already knew how to read, all thanks to my grandmother, who bought me books and encouraged me to read them.

During my teenager times, I began writing a story that, during my student years, I never managed to finish. Only at the age of 24, when I was working in a Beach Library, I rediscovered this story’s drafts. Excited, I took these writings to the library, where I reread them and finally wrote the final chapters of my life’s first great story, suggestively titled “The Revenge!” This first story would in the future become a part of my first novel saga!

In 2013, after participating in a bloggers’ meeting in Lisbon, I honored my blogger’s friends by writing my first saga, “Commas of Destiny.” This saga led to the “Shadows of Light” trilogy and, later, to the “Written Between the Lines” trilogy. Currently, I’m immersed in writing the “Never Ending Story” trilogy, and I have already drawn up the drafts and endings of two other novels, entitled “Chocolate with Pepper” and “Cross Words, Cross Destinies.” I am also starting the sequence novel of “Written Between The Lines,” a thought-provoking crime novel called “The Corpse That Dances at Midnight.”

In addition to creating stories for teenagers, young adults, and adults, I also dedicate myself to writing some children’s stories. When I was a child, one of my favorite stories was about the adventures of a family of foxes. I never find that book again, sadly. This book left such a deep mark on my heart that, as an adult, I decided to write a children’s story in honor of it. This is how “The Little Fox, Spark” was born. I have plans for in the future write the 3rd and final adventure of “The Little Fox, Spark”, provisionally titled “The Little Fox, Spark 3: The Mystery of the Missing Sheep.”

In addition to my literary achievements, I am the great-grandnephew of the poet Etelvina Tristão, known in the Literary Circuit as Duchess X, who published numerous works in newspapers and magazines in the early 20th century, some of which can be found at Casa da Beira-Alta, in Oporto.

I am also the nephew of the actress Maria João Fadário, the protagonist of the famous radio serial “The Cemetery Blond Girl,” written by Luís Manuel Guerra and broadcasted in the 70s in Angola. This program achieved overwhelming success, causing the country to stop during its broadcasts. Maria João Fadário, in addition to being a talented actress, was a poet recognized for her friendliness and generosity. Her unexpected departure occurred when the story “The Cemetery Blond Girl” reached its conclusion, in a very true irony of Fate.

Recently, I embarked on a new project called “Véu Encantado” (Enchanted Veil). I offer various services and artisanal products in this online store, all with a magical and enchanting touch. This new venture promises to be another exciting chapter in my multifaceted life, where my passion for writing, generosity, and creativity find a home alongside my entrepreneurial spirit.

In current times, opening and managing a business is a challenge that requires entrepreneurship, passion, and determination. In a complex and constantly evolving economic landscape, business success requires innovating and adapting to the public’s changing needs. My journey with “Véu Encantado” began within this challenging context. “Véu Encantado” is not just a store but a magical refuge where art and well-being intertwine harmoniously. Our store offers a range of artisanal products, mainly handmade soy candles, carefully crafted to delight the senses and create an atmosphere of serenity. But “Véu Encantado” is more than just products and services; It is a complete experience that embraces what, for me, are 3 fundamental values: physical well-being, mental/spiritual well-being, and psychological/mental well-being. “Véu Encantado” is a store that offers products and services that seek not only to meet the needs of our customers but also to fill gaps in the market. And there lies perhaps the biggest obstacle: the fact that we promote a completely innovative service brings some distrust and resistance to customers. The fact that we are still a tiny and new brand on the market, with little visibility, also makes things difficult. However, we approach the project with hope and enthusiasm, as we believe in it. At the heart of “Véu Encantado” are our handcrafted candles, created with love and care. Each candle is more than just a light source; it is an artistic expression that uses enveloping aromas and inspiring colors to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in any environment. We believe lighting a candle is a ritual that allows you to pause, breathe deeply, and connect with yourself, promoting physical and emotional well-being. We started creating oil massages and home sprays and will soon have artisanal soaps. All products can be customized and tailored to our customers’ needs.

In addition to products, “Véu Encantado” also offers various services that promote overall well-being. My team is composed with some professionals, including Hypnotherapists, Tantric Masseuses, Tarologists, Herbalists, Oraculists, and Cosmetologists. The team is still growing, and my objective, as the Founder and CEO of “Véu Encantado,” is to have a network of professionals who work with me to serve our customers the best. Our workshops and events will be designed to nourish the mind, body, and soul. They will include meditation, yoga, aromatherapy practices, and much more, designed to provide balance and serenity in an increasingly hectic world. One of the most distinctive aspects of “Véu Encantado” is our commitment to psychological and mental well-being. I am a Psychotherapist who has worked in the field for many years. My team and I recognize the importance of caring for mental and emotional health, especially in challenging times like the one we are facing. Our services also includes Psychossocial Support, Personal Counselling, Professional Counselling, Image Counseling, and other resources to help our clients face life’s challenges with resilience and inner strength.

On my life journey, I have encountered many difficult moments that have tested me in unimaginable ways. Adversity is a severe teacher, but it is one of the best. When faced with difficult times, we are pushed out of our comfort zone and forced to find new ways to deal with challenges. These experiences, while painful, often teach us valuable lessons about patience, perseverance, and self-reliance. We discover inner skills and resources we didn’t even know we had. Resilience is what allows us to face adversity head-on. It’s the ability to deal with setbacks, recover from failures, and keep moving forward even when the odds are against us. Luck may give us the occasional push, but resilience keeps us grounded, allowing us to keep moving forward, even when the road is tough. Instead of relying solely on luck, we can create our opportunities. This involves setting clear goals, working tirelessly, and proactively pursuing our goals. The more we invest in our passions and aspirations, the greater the chances of finding opportunities that lead us to success. Our journey through life is a delicate dance between luck and adversity. Luck may give us an initial push, but our resilience, determination, and willpower allow us to navigate this difficult terrain gracefully. In difficult times, that’s when our true potential reveals itself. They say that tough times create capable people, and I agree. Luck may be a factor, but resilience is our greatest ally. So, as I continue my journey, I remind myself that luck is welcome, but resilience allows me to face any adversity life throws my way. This is how I balance the dance between luck and resilience in my story.
