Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica DeBry
Hi Jessica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I like to sum it up in one sentence: I help female entrepreneurs launch bestselling books that catapult their businesses.
I’m a bestselling author, book coach, and founder of Soulfluential Publishing, a hybrid publishing house for soul-centered female entrepreneurs. But I actually stumbled into the book world by accident.
For over a decade, I dreamed of writing a book. When I finally made that dream a reality in 2018, my self-published book became a #1 bestseller on Amazon. I was on top of the world. But just weeks later, I hit a devastating low—I suffered a miscarriage after 18 months of fertility struggles. It was a roller coaster. One moment, I was a bestselling author and an expecting mother. The next, I felt lost, empty, and unable to get out of bed.
But that book changed everything. It gave me the opportunity to start over. I shut down my existing business, determined to turn a new page in life, both personally and professionally. And when I finally welcomed my rainbow baby into the world, I realized just how much that book had given me—a fresh start, credibility, and a platform to build something new.
Then a friend asked me to help her with her book. That’s when I saw firsthand that the “book magic” wasn’t just for me—it could transform other women’s businesses too. And so, Soulfluential Publishing was born. The rest, as they say, is history.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A smooth road? :::Laughs::: Not even close.
I believe nothing worth having comes easy, and one of my favorite mottos is: Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better, wish you were stronger. (I think that was Jim Rohn?)
Every challenge I’ve faced has led me to create unique strategies—both in business and in book writing. Here’s an example.
In 2020, I gave birth to my beautiful rainbow baby… and then the world shut down. That’s when I found out my son had over 30 anaphylactic food allergies, which came with a cascade of struggles—severe eczema, constant discomfort, sleepless nights. By 2022, I was completely exhausted, juggling motherhood and my business.
But amidst all that, I had this unshakable feeling: I need to write another book.
Everyone told me I didn’t have time—my best friend, my husband, even my own inner voice at times. But I couldn’t shake it. Have you ever had something you just can’t let go of? Something that keeps you up at night, constantly pulling at you? That was me.
So I had to find a new way forward. That’s when I created my Micro Book Method—a streamlined, strategic approach to writing a book in a way that’s doable for even the busiest entrepreneurs. Five short, powerful chapters that hit all the key points of a business-building book.
I used my own method to write Author Entrepreneur, which became a bestseller in April 2023. And I realized I wasn’t the only one who needed this framework. So many women—especially business owners—felt like they didn’t have time to write a book. Now, I get to tell them: You do. Here’s how.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Soulfluential Publishing?
I help female entrepreneurs write and launch books that grow their businesses.
Most of my work happens through Soulfluential Publishing, my hybrid publishing house. Hybrid publishing is truly the best of both worlds for female entrepreneurs.
Here’s why.
For years, authors had only two options:
Traditional publishing – Professional quality, but slow timelines, loss of creative control, and giving away a huge chunk of royalties.
Self-publishing – Full control and higher profits, but often overwhelming with all the moving parts.
I experienced this firsthand when I self-published my first book in 2018. It was an incredible opportunity—but also a learning curve.
That’s why I created Soulfluential Publishing—to combine the best parts of both models. We use an upfront, flat-fee model (like self-publishing) so authors keep 100% of their royalties and creative control. But we also provide the professional publishing services of a traditional house, guaranteeing a high-quality, bestselling book.
At the end of the day, I believe books are business assets. They should work for you long after launch day—bringing you more visibility, clients, and opportunities for years to come. That’s what we help our authors achieve.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice in 2025? Go micro.
The book industry is alive and thriving. But here’s the thing—today’s world is distracted. Social media is shallow, with people scrolling past your content in seconds. A book, on the other hand, is where your audience can truly go deep with your stories, struggles, and strategies.
But you don’t need to write an encyclopedia-length book to make an impact. That’s why I always tell my clients: Start small. Start strategic.
With my Micro Book Method, I’ve helped busy female entrepreneurs write books in a way that feels doable—five chapters, a clear structure, and a focus on authority-building content.
Because here’s the truth: If you keep waiting for the perfect time to write your book, it’ll never happen.
And if you never share your story, someone out there—the person who needs to hear it—will never get the chance to be impacted by it.
So, if you’re thinking about writing a book, ask yourself: If I could change even one person’s life by sharing my story… wouldn’t it be worth it?
It’s time to make that dream happen.
