Inspiring Conversations with Jenna Neumann of iVee League Solar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Neumann. 

Hi Jenna, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story starts a bit unconventional. I grew up in small-town Wisconsin with dreams of becoming a middle school teacher and coaching high school basketball. When I graduated college, I stayed in the teaching industry for seven years until I felt I was destined for something different. I ended up getting out of the industry and took a job in Texas as an Office Manager for a solar company and after a year in, was promoted to General Manager. I was enjoying learning about the industry, taking courses, and soaking in all things solar. About four years in, I decided I wanted to make the move back to Arizona, where I was teaching for a few years prior, and my former CFO, now business partner, Christopher Yau, approached me about the idea to start our own solar company and a few months later, iVee League Solar was born. With our combined passion, knowledge, and expertise in the solar industry, it only made sense for us to continue our solar journey in the sunny state of beautiful Arizona. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When starting a business, you are excited to share it with others. You constantly hear ‘congratulations’ and go out for celebratory dinners, but no one prepares you for the endless amount of hours you’ll spend developing your business and the sleepless nights wondering if you made the right decision. 

For us, it was the only decision that made sense and I think every business comes with their own struggles. Having 300 days of sun out of the year in beautiful Scottsdale, AZ of course is going to come with many other solar companies. The competition is hot but we are here to understand our customers’ needs and educate them so they know exactly what they are investing in and the value they will be receiving.

Something people may or may not know is that I am a big animal lover and enjoy giving back to our four-legged friends. At my previous company, every year for the Holidays I held a large company fundraiser/giveaway and we raised over $1,500.00 for three years so we could give back to our local animal shelters.
