Inspiring Conversations with Janell Grady Erin Brandel of Dwelling92

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janell Grady Erin Brandel.

Hi Janell Grady, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Friends first, Erin Brandel and Janell Grady bonded over their love for design. Janell worked as a furniture manufacture representative in Southern California after college and then for Legacy Gallery in Arizona where she was the marketing manager. Erin’s love for design started at an early age where she grew up working in her family’s fabric store and later on remodeling homes with her husband. Given their backgrounds, their passions led them to start Dwelling92 in 2022.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t always been smooth. Running a small design business means juggling a lot, including the less exciting parts of design like invoicing and logistics. We have made mistakes along the way, but have overcome them and learned from them to fine tune our process. We are always evolving.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Dwelling92?
We specialize in creating spaces that truly work for families, not just pretty rooms. We design with everyday life in mind, so our projects balance style with comfort, durability, and functionality. Whether it’s a busy kitchen, a cozy living room, or a functional mudroom, we love helping four clients get the most out of their homes while feeling inspired by their space.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Between the two of us we have seven kids. Our husbands have played an integral part of helping us balance being busy moms and business owners.
